Yeah dragons haven’t sacked De Belin. But there’s long been rumours of a split in the playing group over it. And look at how they’ve gone the last two season with that hanging over them. They should be a top 8 team.
No team's a top 8 team with Norman in the spine. ***** cursed

if there is a silver lining in this its that we've all been saying we have too many 2nd rowers for years now. Thank god his position isnt one that we are short on. Lets hope topine shines in the all stars game this weekend and gives barrett another option. He seems like a kid with his head screwed on thats waiting for an opportunity

Fuck man, why couldn't Elliot just quote something from the Bible... would be much easier to boot him
Elliot should show some decency and ask the club for a release ffs to go to Penrith an
Lichaa has cheated on his fiancée numerous times of word on the street is anything to go by.... so msybd he is the one who is Michael by name and nature.
word on the street? LOL ffs

The more details that come out, the worse it gets.. Everyone looks bad and loses in this situation. Lichaa had every right to bash Elliott but shouldn't have hit his partner, even if what she and Elliott did is as low as it gets...

Meanwhile the club gets unwanted headlines on the eve of the season and now has to figure out what action to take with Elliott.

At this point I couldn't care less if he's sacked as he'd only have himself to blame.. If they wanted to, they'd have grounds to based on breaching the code of conduct by bringing the club into disrepute and not heeding the warning from his Mad Monday incident..

Isn’t there some clause in the players CBA that prevents a club punishing a player by sticking them in reserve grade for the year? I vaguely remember it being talked about when Jackson Hastings was punted at Manly.

I don't know if we can legally sack him but we can make it hard for him. Tell him the playing group don't trust you anymore and don't want you at the club so we want you to find another club. If he says no tell him he won't be playing FG at the Bulldogs again. Eventually he'll get the message and request a release

Hopefully we can legally sack him though to make it quicker and easier.
Of course the club can sack him. They have a Code of Conduct and this bloke has broken it multiple times, with previous warnings.
He would have surely been on a last warning. This fits the crime of bringing the Club into disrepute - again! It's bye-bye time. First test for the 'new' board and management. Let's see what size their jewels are.

Look. I get why we're all angry at him. It's a scumbag thing to do.

But ...

How can we legally sack him? People talk about this 'Code of Conduct'. When has sleeping with a consensual adult been a breach of contract? Or illegal? He's an adult and can sleep with who he wants in reality.

It's not nice what he did. Downright dispicable tbh. But there's fuck all chance he's broken any code of conduct.

He’s on decent coin to be playing in NSW cup comp.
Just sack him and rid yourself of a mediocre player who happens to be a scumbag , and re invest his money somewhere else .
We can't just sack him but can make his life harder.
" come back through reggies while you get your confidence back after injuries "

Club is very aware he wanted out last year but only resigned when the other clubs offered him a lot less then we did
He was telling anyone who would even half listen how he wasn't happy with how the club treated him with the mad Monday thing and his injuires

If that were the case then CHN and Oku would've been out the door with no chance of coming back .. .not that simple mate.
CHN and Okunbur’s employment matters were dealt with internally by the NRL. The bulldogs football club did not take any action.

The NRL decided at first instance to deregister them (because of the all the negative media publicity at the time) and on appeal the NRL internal appeal’s committee decided to re-instate them (when the were no longer in the spotlight). They were dealt with by the NRL because they breached the NRL’s code of conduct (separate agreements between the NRL and the players).

This was not done in any court of competent jurisdiction (such as the NSW Supreme Court or the Fair Work Tribunal) where employment matters are ordinarily agitated.

Given Lichaa’s missus has publicly made admissions which inculpate Elliot, there is a factual and legal basis to say he brought the club into disrepute. He can argue he didn’t but this is an argument of fact and degree. However, generally where there is community outrage, this is hard to overcome.

Not every act needs to be criminal for a sacking.

we saw last yr with the school girl scandal, that it's not enough to sack them
There was more to the schoolgirl scandal than what was put before the NRL appeals crew. Apparently one of those blokes (guess which one) broke a Club rule about women in the hotel room over and over and over again, straight after being warned. Just thought the rules didn't apply to him. Word is that drove some senior players mad.

I agree , we have no legs to get rid off him .

I bet Trent would off loved for him to screw up and send him on his way . Unless it comes out that Elliot got violent then we will be stuck with him .
It’s putrid and honestly pathetic by him .
that’s my one big issue with barret
Adam
Idiot was as good as gone til barret called him and asked him to stay
I bet he regrets that decision right about now
