I'm on Admire Rakti, but I am drawn to Willing Foe for some reason, so will probably put 5x5 on it as well. Hardest race of the year to tip in, so I'm not confident in anything I pick.

Melbounre Cup is a funny beast - I know we are supposed to get into it, but when I used to work in a large office environment, it just seemed to be an excuse for the secretaries to get dresed up, get pised in the afternoon and for a few hours pretend to be an expert on horse racing.... having said that, now working for myself, I wouldn't mind going to a Melb Cup function tomorrow....

Going to a Calcutta tonight with a group. About ten of us chucking in $50 each. Going to leave horse buying to someone else in the syndicate who hopefully knows what they are doing!

I always put a few mystery trifectas on as it's such a difficult race to pick with such big prize pools.
I'll be having my first pint at 10am & have already put my bets on all 10 Flemington races so I don't have to line up behind the noobs :grinning:

I have no idea who's who but I feel drawn to putting on a bet this year. I was Gonna open an online account as I don't have time to go to the tab. Who's the best online agency and what's something with a realistic chance around the $20 or $30 mark. I don't see any point on bettong on $5 horse as they don't pay much

TABs are pretty much everywhere (in every pub and club for starters), and is probably quicker than setting up a betting account. Plus agencies open early on Melbourne Cup day.

If you work in the city, they set up a huge temporary TAB in Martin Place.

Most of the starters are in the veteran class (8yo or older) Of the younger brigade I like Protectionist.

Yea I start work at 6 so no chance of getting to a tab. If I can't do it online then I won't bother like any other year

I actually put my bets on tonight at a nearby RSL. The place was empty!

Skip the cup and win easily on the lead up races every year.
