Maybe because its the right thing thing to do for another person. Remember that these players put everything into being a NRL player and maybe it's the decent thing to do by Burton. Clearly is highly egotistical and only doing this out of spite. Not for what's best for Burton as a person.

Spot on and all bennetts faults aside he cares about players and has often let players go if their path is blocked at a club hes coaching .

There is no doubt that the Penrith management are fully aware he wants out big time which so far has fallen on deaf ears.
I can’t see Burton making a scene or posting his discontent on social media in any way.
He will just have to hope they have a change of heart,very doubtful
 
The dogs should make a very public big offer to Crichton for 2022.

If we need to wait for Burton we can also wait for Crichton. Go hard for him. We don’t owe Penrith anything.

Absolutely it’s the right thing to do, Burton has decided his future. Penrith are whinging about developing him and not getting a benefit.

But consider it was the other way around and we had a genuine shot at a title, would you want a strong back up released. I know they’ve signed Salman but he’s NSW cup standard.

I also don’t put the Corey Allen release in the same category, Souths wanted him gone for cap space. I bet if Mitchell was missing for the first few months of the season it would have been a different story.

managers let the existing clubs know of all offers, no need for a public offer.

I appreciate that S. Crichton is highly rated but having already secured Addo-Carr, Cotric and Allan, I think the club's priorities moving forward should be recruiting a no. 9, a prop or two (especially if we do not re-sign Napa), potentially a strike back rower and working if/where Averillo fits in FG

off topic but I find it funny that Kyrie Irving demanded a trade away from the Cavaliers because he wanted his own team and not be in LeBron's shadow, made the Celtics worse when he played, orchestrated signing with the Nets along with Durant only to now be a third option
