Not sure why anyone would write Joash off, until the kid gets a shot at first grade I still feel he can be our future fullback. The only sample size I've seen yet was the trial game against the storm, yes it wasn't against Melbourne's full first grade side but neither was our side and imo Joash looked every bit an NRL prospect in that game.
Size and speed are possibly a concern, BIG jump to manage First Grade week in and week out.

Gutho and Fatrell are always jogging a few metres in front of the play in anticipation for a break because they're too slow to catch up and often rule themselves out of the next play.

Yeah 100%.wouldn't be changing Tracey at this stage.hes been awesome and I think he ll get better.
Fuck hoppa.he was useless.i still remember the origin game he played.every single kick return ,he got picked up and carried backwards 5 meters.ive never seen a player get more man handled than he did .he had good hands and zero outside of that.
Pre mission Hopoate was good IMO. Never quite reached the same quality after those couple of years out of the game.

100%....parra are replacing gutho with the young bloke from Penrith, who has played only couple games in first grade.theyd rather take a punt on a rookie, than keep gutho at fullback.that shows where gutho is in his career.
Shows where Parra are as a club, premiership window closed quickly. Now they must reinvent themselves

Solid player, but young and raw playing outside Stewart bros and Lyon... Arguably the best edge of that period for any winger to be on the end of

Decision needs to be made on his future position. We really need a long term prospect getting games in NSW cup ASAP. Tracey is 29 next year and has a history of structural injuries

Last year we had Haysi Fantayzee playing fullback and we where sweating on the development of this kid.
You'd think for now Tracey will keep the role and with an injury free preseason being an incumbent fullback, will be way better for it.
I feel that Wilson will be the future fullback.

We need to make a play for Gutho.
We need better positioning and 1 on 1 defence from our FB than Tracey.

Tracey is sufficient to get us to finals again but we need ro be aiming at top 4 and you can only get there with a top FB.

You dont stumble into top 4 without one.
Gutho is held together by duct tape. No thanks

He is also one of the best footy brains in the game, next to DCE.

And footy brains is what our team lacks the most.

He is slowing down, no doubt. But can take a bomb better than any other FB, can dummy half run like Tedesco and one if the better support players in the middle.

If Shane Flanagan is looking at him when he has Sloane already there, then its obvious there are people out there that see what i see.....

Yeah.the club is a shambles.the players there had to much say .they were even lucky to make the grand final couple years back.they beat the cowboys, only because the cowboys were young and inexperienced and then got pumped by penrith.didnt even put up a fight.

It's still too early to say if Papalii can make NRL IMO. Sometimes he looks exceptional and other times he looks pedestrian. But he's still young and some consistent form at the start of next year could make a big difference to where he ends up. He should watch a few videos of how Mick Potter used to play.

What's Gus's famous line? "He will tell us when he is ready". The kids 21, let him mature into the player that demands to be picked in 1st grade week in and week out.
21 is a good 3 years of "showing" what he can do.

You cant expect players (especially FB) to be 24 or 25 before you thrust them into first grade....theyll only get 5 yeaes out of the game.

Im not writing him off, im just saying at 21, he would have shown by now what he can provide in that position. I hope he gets a chance next year at some stage. We can then make a call on whether he is worth pursuing.

Its not a bad tactic to ease such players on the wing. Turbo did it for a couple of years before claiming the FB spot for Manly. Mini did it too.

No one is perfect but he is one of the safer and confident bomb takers in the game.
Edwards and Rapana are others.

But anyone can drop them from time to time.
