We fielded a team of Ron Massey cup players this year. I agree with you that this player and others aren’t game changers to a decent team. But a team that had 5-6 NRL quality players these signings do elevate us. We are nowhere near a top 10 team. But we had a putrid team this year and by all reports a lazy team with a loser mentality. Sometimes subtraction is a form of addition haha

We do need several hard nosed props though and ideally a controlling/solid 7. Just hope we move away from smaller, utility type players. Unless Ciro is wanting a small ball NRL team like the warriors (of golden state ) lol

Hutchison has played centre and 6 foot 2 97kg....we have just lost Avo and Burns and probably Alomatti. I see this as a good signing

Honestly I don't see this being a bad thing. Reed comes on after 15-20mins against a tiring defence. Like how Api was used at the Panthers. Jakes is there just to make those early tackles and maybe provide another spell for Reed depending on how we are going.

Every team targets Mahoney, he gets tired starts missing tackles and making errors. Turpin will be part of a hooker rotation he could even end up starting.

Yep turpins a v good defender. Get him out there early and allow reed to enter fresh against some tiring bodies to see what he can offer in attack

Quiet obvious really, Budget stop gap NRL players until some real meat hits the market and also buys a couple of years of competitiveness
until juniors start rolling through.
