Injuries have definitely compounded some questionable preseason decisions. Perham at 1. Captain selections, workload expected of Reed. Declaring Flang as our half to steer the team. This is the thing that always gets me. People have terrible memories when it comes to injuries and ref errors. I.e: They forget that these things have a huge bearing on results.
You just have to look at some of the best performing clubs this season and how losing only one or two players has affected them. It shouldn’t be understated really. When you have 2 of your starting pack out for the whole season practically (Kiks only played a few games) and many others having from a few weeks to months out, you’re up against it in a major way.
Logically it might seem like you should still win games as a replacement player can’t be that much worse, but in reality, every replacement player will usually reduce the whole team’s ability by a bit. When half the team is players that otherwise would be in reggies, it’s no surprise that they don’t perform well.
josh Jackson’s retirement which was outside clubs control hasn’t helped.
injuries plus an inferior roster has equaled a shi*t show.
