Greatest country in the world. Where else would I be able to live with a disability and be able to stay at home and have the quality of services I need to live a life as normal as I can? I can’t think of too many. Everyday I appreciate the good taxpayers of this country which allow me to do so. I am very fortunate. I love this sunburnt country.

Globalisation has been a bit of a flop.
Australia wanted to punch above our weight and play on the world stage and in doing so we gave away some of our secrets - good climate, safe and far enough away from the rest of the world’s crap, quality healthcare - the list goes on. Now so many want to live here, but we didn’t prepare for that and didn’t build enough infrastructure, hence sky high housing prices, increasingly bad traffic and other challenges. It’s definitely not the same place I grew up in, in some ways I feel we’re losing our sense of humour, but compared to the 50 other countries I’ve had the good fortune to visit none of them jump out as an alternative that beats Oz. And they don’t have the Bulldogs.

Australia has it's faults just like any other nation but gee's we've got it good compared to a lot of other ones.

I was listening to Graeme Gilbert on the Gold Coast last night and his red neck callers. Almost called him to get up em.

no one can say blue_boost isnt the best researched kennel member.. I get inside the minds of Australia’s scum to get a few steps ahead of them to protect kennel members

Problem with Australia is immigration.. let every man and his dog in.. thins out our resources. Drives inflation and puts pressure on housing,

Problem with Australia is we sell all our resources to China for cheap and buy it back for 10x the price.

Problem with Australia is it trys to cater for everyone’s differences … you sort of just have to say live in my house these are my rules, everyone can’t have it their own way.

to stop the rorts I think there should be no government assistance to anyone that comes to Australia for the first 5 years. So people won’t come to leech off our taxpaying money

Some of you people are in dreamland tbh ...

Have been living abroad for the past 22 years and wouldn't come back anytime soon.

Every man and his dog asks me the same thing when they find out I'm an Australian living in Europe.

"Why the fuck would you live anywhere else but Australia?"

Australia growing up was incredible for me. Absolutely loved it in Sydney but as I got older and travelled the world more that love gradually eroded.

Don't get me wrong. Australia is my home and that'll never change, but it's not what it used to be.

Immigration? Politics? Globalisation? Yeah, that and more I'm sure are the reasons for the decline but you can say that pretty much about anywhere in the world these days.

What it comes down to me is safety not just for me but my wife and kids.

My home now I, my wife, my kids can walk home at any time of day / night anywhere within the country and not be worried at all when they hear someone behind them.

I never had that feeling anywhere else in the world, and especially not in Australia.

Another side is lifestyle. Without doubt I'd be living a 'better life' financially in Australia, so if money were my motivator I'd be on the plane yesterday with my family ready to move.

But what do you do with that money? Work from dawn to dusk? Tied down to the system? Paying off loans and debt?

My home now I can be skiing within 30 mins. On the beach within 60. Kids finish school at midday and enjoy the outside. Parents can finish early to ski or go for a hike or paddle in the river.

That's not to say it's perfect here and Australia doesn't have its advantages as it does.

Australia isn't shit, but it's definitely not the promised land like it used to be.

I blame that largely down to the fact Souths are still in the comp. Should've kicked those ***** out years ago and society would be a much better place to be

Don't agree with the rest of your post but that's just opinions, but the quote above is 100% fact:tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:. What country are you in Tassie?

I think people in general are shit.
Everyone is out for themselves and don’t give a fuck about anyone else.
And we haven't seen nothing yet my bro....
