How do you deal with sticky beak neighbours

In light of the noisy neighbours thread,
I thought I'd ask about nosey neighbours and share a story.

A few years ago my parents moved from Kiama to Newcastle to be closer to me as they are struggling in old age.

My habits changed, instead of coming straight home after work I'd call in on mum and make sure they were OK, so I'd be getting home much later in the afternoon than usual.

My nosey neighbour noticed this.
Also, somehow my nosey neighbour also noticed my car parked outside my mums house.
For context my mums house is in the next suburb from mine in a quiet street,
How my neighbour by chance saw my car there, I will never know????
I think her kids childcare centre is near mums house.

Anyway, the stupid bitch noticed my car at my mums every afternoon.
But didn't know it was mums place.

She assumed I was having an affair and proceeded to tell all the other neighbours in our street of her suspicion.

Eventually the bitch pulled my wife aside abd told her that I was having an affair and I'm at this house every afternoon.

My wife in shock questioned her where this house was.
The bitch neighbour explained and my wife worked it out as my mums house.

This neighbour is mid 30s with little kids.

How she has the time I'll never know.

So this all happened a few years ago.
I never made an issue of it, when my wife explained to her it was my mums place we just left it at that.

Well talk about karma.

This is a sad story, and to be honest I get no satisfaction from this
They have 2 little kids,

Anyway, her hubby developed a gambling addiction and was secretly wasting money on gambling.
She was wondering why they couldn't afford things anymore and what not and they were starting to financially struggle.

She found out about his gambling and had a big blow up.
Anyway a few months after things were still difficult,
Bring the snoop She is she hacked into his phone and into his emails to see his bank statements.

She discovered more than gambling

She discovered he was frequently going to Asian massage parlors

She looked into the places he was going and they are the happy ending variety.

He denied getting happy endings, said was just getting massages.

She accepted that story but obviously had suspicion.

Any a few more months pass and she is still suspicious.
Old mate had changed his phone code so she couldn't hack his phone.

But she did notice an unfamiliar phone number frequently called and received calls on his car screen when his phone sync to the car.

She memorised the number and decided to call it,
It was a lady voice and she hung up.

She suspected, her hubby having an affair
The irony right....

So eventually she discovered his phone pin and got back into his phone.

Discovered text messages, dirty photos and the like.
Hubby was having an affair with this lady, and others.

She came over to our house telling my wife all about it and she did apologise for accusing me of being a cheating hubby, and noted she should have been looking closer in her own backyard.

Talk about, glass houses haha

Honestly, I feel bad for their little kids
They are separating now and nothing good will come of it.

I am a bit of a sticky beak neighbour but mainly because my desk looks out onto the street. My dog also always rushes out to the shutters when something is happening.

Anyway I've seen a full on street romance, like it lasted about 8 months. First they started talking, then started walking the dog together, then went out to lunch, then dinner, then started visiting each other's house, etc. It didn't work out in the end. The guy kinda lost all this weight after it and now a younger girl visits him a couple times a month. I think she might be a prostitute though.

I've also seen 3 of my neighbours naked (I wasn't spying).

Firstly I’m really loving all this neighbour content. It’s cut from the same cloth as renters threads.. I really am expert level dealing with cunning renters and neighbours

Secondly, The nosey detective Colombo lady must have been telling her cheating husband how you are the scumbag cheater.. her detective work exposed you… then she comes back red faced.

I have my own nosey neighbour… the Mrs has been working alot more lately and bumped into the nosey neighbour at the shops.. the nosey neighbour says to her “been working a lot lately haven’t you”… the Mrs told me how would she know?

Another time someone’s house alarm went off and I walked outside to see which house it was.. my nosey neighbour calls out to me from her upstairs bedroom saying it was the house next door..

But I’m also a nosey neighbour.. (to go into the hornets nest you too must be a hornet) one time my nosey neighbour went to stay in city and a few blokes were sneaking around her front yard.. I went outside to confront them and the daughter comes out and says there is no one around.. I let my nosey neighbour know and she calls her and the boys quickly left.
