It was a blatant hip drop. Incredibly dangerous tackle that can end careers and has to be eliminated from the game.

Preston couldn't get him down, so instead of just wrapping the legs, he grabs hold of Thompsons jersey and pretty much jumps directly on his ankles with his hips. There is nothing"soft" about penalising these tackles.
