Yes it’s a trial.
A trial against one of the best rosters in the competition. They under performed last year. Without question I think the Broncos are top 4 this year.
That being said the alarm bells are going off. Ciro is the master of hitting the snooze button on his alarm.
He needs to hit the Off button and get up. We need size in the middle from round one! If he starts the season with a bench including Hayward, Salmon and Morrin we are royally screwed before a ball is kicked. Ignoring the likes of Todd & DSF is showing loyalty to a fault.
We have missed the jump in both of the last two seasons. Whilst we might not have a complete roster to work with. The use of what we do have is consistently delayed by all I can see is tunnel vision on the selection table.
Our small forward game plan last year was forced by our roster. Teams struggled to combat our mobility. This has now been worked out. We need a new formula.
The stats don’t lie. We were dominated last year in defence and attack. If it wasn’t for Burtons long kicking game. Giving us field position. We finish bottom 4.
While I praise Burtons impact in field position kicking game. His goal kicking is that of a backup kicker. Games were lost last year as a result of missed kicks that most NRL kickers would get the majority of the time. This is a not a Burton bash. This is a coaching question. There is several kicking options in the team. Why hasn’t this been addressed in the offseason? Goal kicking can be the difference between winning and losing every week. Yet everyone seems to have their heads in the sand on this
