CANTERBURY BULLDOGS

They are a team that has struggled all year to cross the stripe.

Despite sitting seventh, Canterbury have scored fewer tries than all but Gold Coast, Wests Tigers and Cronulla. Worse, from inside their own half they have scored just four — the worst of any NRL team. This is a complete turnaround from 2011-2012 when they led all teams for tries inside their own half, mainly due to the support and scintillating form of Ben Barba.

Privately rival players & coaches have conceded that the main strategy when playing the Bulldogs is limitiing their forwards rolling up the field, as stats show the side struggles to create try scoring opportunites through their spine and backline - with Tim Lafai who is all step, shimmy and swerve emerging as the unlikely danger man.

Perhaps because of a slowish backline, Canterbury rely heavily on getting inside the rival red zone for points, with 82 per cent of their tries coming from plays inside the opposition 20m line.
Who said we're not in the top 4?

We just need better backs which we have got for next year wish we got them this year but oh well and we should be getting a specialised fullback, all problems will be solved. I think the club has taken a lot longer than first thought to get over the departure of Ben barba
Hate him all you want, but barba
had huge impact on our attacking flair. I'd take him back no hesitation if he was available.

Good Grief, what are you on about?? I am not a serious or sensitive, I just would like to see some constructive criticism!! why don't you go back to school and learn some grammar, in the mean time stick to one liners for everyones sake.
His right mate we don't all need to agree and love every player that plays for our club.

With Perrett, we can go and win games 12-10.

With Barba, we lose those games 28-24.

Article is misleading.

We played teams with the best defensive records more than any other team in the competition.

Our halves have been AWOL since origin and we barely won any games or scored any points with them out.

Our most potent back was in origin and spent 8 weeks on the sidelines.

Our second most potent back (sam perrett) was also injured.

We are capable of scoring 20 points a match easily.

You mean all that attacking flair of last year? The attacking flair that didn't do jack shit?

"But we have the NSW halves".....
I like hodko but seriously his on field kicks are shocking. I would much rather see Reynolds and Mbye as a combination cause Mbye can actually kick. Reynolds is too dirty as well. it doesn't look like they'll be picked for Origin again. probs Pearce and Malony next year.View attachment 21807

Barba has lost his speed since his ankle injury!
After watching him last night he couldn't catch Fonua..
I think this is the reason he has lost his fullback position.

Barba has gone to shit. I suspect it's all mental rather than physical, but his speed is gone.

I sadly can see him playing Reserve Grade next year unless something changes.

So if we sign a couple of try scoring wingers and a very good fullback in both offence and defence we start scoring twenty points a game.
