Superstar winger Josh Addo-Carr has been sensationally withdrawn from the Kangaroos squad after being handed a breach notice by the NRL.

It means Addo-Carr will take no part in the Pacific Championships, despite being named in the 21-man squad on Tuesday.

Addo-Carr was involved in a brawl at the Koori Knockout at the weekend, and the Sydney Morning Herald reports the Bulldogs and Blues flyer will be offered two games on the sideline as a punishment.

The NRL released the breach notice on Friday, but is yet to confirm the penalty, and Addo-Carr has five days to respond.

"It is alleged Addo-Carr engaged in conduct which has brought the game into disrepute by punching an opposition player to the head following a match at the NSW Annual Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout Competition.," the NRL notice read.

The Kangaroos play Samoa on October 14 and then New Zealand on October 28, before a final of the tri-nations tournament.

On Friday, Kangaroos coach Mal Meninga brought Panthers fullback Dylan Edwards into the squad, while axing Addo-Carr.

Australia has already lost halfback Nathan Cleary from the squad named on Tuesday, due to a knee injury.

At Tuesday's press conference both Meninga and ARLC chairman Peter V'landys said Addo-Carr was entitled to a presumption of innocence, which is why he was named in the squad despite an investigation hanging over his head.

"His value is on-field and off-field. He's a terrific player, but his value off field is tremendous as well," Meninga said.

"His morale is excellent... he's good to be around, but he's also a good leader for those Indigenous boys. He plays a very important part."

Does that mean he will have to serve the 2 match suspension (if it is upheld) for our games?

i am under the impression he will be able to use the two games for Australia as suspension. Holmes one game suspension was used against not being able to play for Australia

Better for us. No need to worry bout him getting injured.
And he gets to serve the suspension before 2024 season which is also good

It's the wording that troubles me

Josh Addo-Carr has been sensationally withdrawn from the Kangaroos squad

Agreed. Does that mean he has been withdrawn from the team and that is his punishment or withdrawn from the team with punishment on top ?

Well he was picked so he can serve the 2 game suspension against Samoa and then NZ but play in the Final?

I think he’s just used this as an opportunity to bring in a replacement for tedesco when he inevitably fucks up?

apart from cobbo there's no genuine winger in the squad, hammer is a fullback/ center, holmes and staggs both play centers and Edwards is a fullback only along with tedesco.

Honestly I don't want to see or hear he is playing in this shit comp again

If he goes down with a fucking acl it will be our problem

I don't give a fuck about this koori knock-out shit

If ya want to knock the **** out sort it out after hours when cameras are gone
They can play for 30 years after they retire for all I care. Doing it during the contract isn’t being professional
