The Sharks beat the Titans 38-10 when they played each other this season.

That should've given the Sharks 8th spot instead of the Titans playing an uninterested Warriors.

Nah, for and against is better. It’s more indicative of a team’s performance over the course of the entire season. Having said that, there are some terrible teams in the finals this year. Titans, Sharks or Knights don’t deserve to be anywhere near the finals..

The draw isn't fair so it really isn't a better indicator. You play some teams twice and some teams once.

That’s a fair point, but how would head yo head results be fair? You could have a case where one team goes into a head to head with a number of outs due to injury….. or where one team is kissing players due to origin.

The only way to get a true fair comp would be actually reducing teams to 14 instead of this BS adding more teams which there is not enough talent for & playing each other twice. Also stand alone Origins on a Friday or Saturday night would be nice & fuck off 6 again BS.

Sadly they will never get rid of teams.

If they make it 18 teams with 3 divisions of 6 it'll be fairer than current system. You play everyone in your division twice and other divisions once for a total of 22 games.

I've been saying for over a decade now that Origin should be on 3 weekends in a row with no NRL games. You can play either a challenge cup without Origin players or you can play international games.

Here's how I think the comp should work each year:

Top 8 plays top 8 and bottom 8 plays bottom 8 from the year before - that's 7 games

Then each team plays each team once - that 15 games

Total 22 games plus 2 byes = 24 rounds.

Or

Top 10 play top 10, bottom 10 play bottom 10 = 9 games

Then play each team once = 15 games

Plus 1 bye = 25 rounds

How is that fairer when a team can be forced to play without it’s stars due to origin?
There has to be a tie breaker and people will complain no matter what is in play
