BULLDOGS coach Steve Folkes has hit back at Sonny Bill Williams refuting claims that he chastised the player over his decision to convert to Islam.
Folkes stated that he did not ever judge him or Islam.
Folkes also stands by his thoughts on Williams' friend Anthony Mundine and stated that he had referred to the former rugby league player in a fatherly figure capacity and warned Williams that he should be wary of any advice that that he receives from Mundine.
Folkes told Sonny Bill Williams that he should “Be careful of what advice you take from Anthony Mundine.”
In response to Williams’ comments that NRL players are treated like cattle, Folkes responded saying,
“Do cattle get paid $500,000 a year? That’s a ridiculous statement.”
The Bulldogs take on the Cowboys at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday.
