Dene wearing black arm band tonight for Jae

Just in case it doesn't get mentioned I want to mention it here. We all know how great our team is with the work they do with Camp quality. I just want to personally thank Dene Halatau, (and 2 other players, not sure who yet) for visiting my friends little nephew Jae, who passed away last week from cancer. He was only 5 years old. Dene and the boys visited him in hospital when he was very sick a couple for weeks ago. They went on their own accord and without any involvement from Camp Quality. They found out about Jae through my wife who mentioned it to one of her old work colleagues who now works with the Bulldogs. The boys were the first people to put a smile on that boys face in weeks according to Jae's parents! Jae's parents said they turned a little boy into a Bulldogs fan in just a couple of hours even though he wasn't a league fan at all.

Thanks Dene and my love goes out to Jae's poor parents and family.

Good on them for putting a smile on his face, even if only for 5 minutes at least they take their mind of their illnesses. I'd say players do this sort of thing a lot. I know when my son was at Westmead Childrens a few years ago a heap of the Parra players came through giving out easter eggs and chatting to the kids.

Don't know what the hell is wrong with me but I got teary reading that....

I wish you and your mates all the best and hope they find comfort during this difficult time. There's nothing anyone can do or say to stop the hurt but I really hope they find comfort from somewhere, anywhere.
