This doesn't seem like a good thing for NRL coverage.

Maybe not - but the long run could see them unifying the absolutely unnecessary amount of subscriptions required to watch your favourite teams in various sports.

Just in Australia alone, to watch the EPL, the NRL, NFL, NBA and say - some of the other top Soccer leagues, you would require:

  • Kayo
  • Foxtel
  • Optus Sport
  • NFL pass
  • NBA pass
  • Stan Sports for European leagues
  • Paramount (FA cup)

Imagine a world - 1 subscription - EPL, NRL, NFL, La Liga etc etc... that'd be worth some coin tbh.

I’d rather not pay for sports I don’t watch, I’m fine with Kayo as it stand but if it were to bump up costs to include other services than that’s a different story.

The only sport you should pay for, is the ones you go to the game

That'll never happen. It'll cost companies too much money to get the rights.

@DinkumDog you tried to argue that foxtel was in great shape and netflix was in trouble lol, now after presenting the sorriest sports line up, they are through competing for sports rights and have given up

Might be the kick up the arse the nrl needs to finally setup its own game pass.

I can’t see DAZN paying them like Foxtel has been.

Wrong again Doofus.
Bet you’d never get near a board room with your strategic sense (or lack thereof).
It’s a great deal: $3.4bn banked, move away from legacy tech, pay down debt and take seats on the DAZN board - a much bigger player globally (300m subscribers) who will likely offer a better product to Australian consumers in the long run and I bet the NRL and AFL are very interested in increasing their revenues via a larger player. A very shrewd piece of business in the streaming wars where everyone is bleeding...

Don’t know why but you seem to like getting your arse handed to you (could be a kink thing) so shouldn’t be much longer until the next hissy fit. Clown :tearsofjoy:.

I think it’s the opposite.
Why would the NRL limit their audience largely to Australia by doing a B2C product when they can get access to 300m DAZN subscribers globally?
With that growth they’d want more money and DAZN wouldn’t have bought Foxtel without belief in their federation partners like NRL and AFL being around long term. Its win/win and won’t be the last of consolidation we’ll see in my view.

Where is the proof, or did that happen with the magical edited posts.

ATM DAZN in Aus shows boxing for $13.99 per month

How much does DAZN cost? There is only one subscription tier for DAZN, which costs $13.99 per month. The pay-per-view system has become uniform with the boxing world, however this isn't the case for DAZN – what you see is what you get, and no extra payments apart from your monthly subscription are necessary..
