It will be interesting what they do when cam green returns. It was originally estimated he might be ready to go for the WI tour, I haven't really noticed any reporting about his recovery from that lower spine surgery.
6 months out which would of started in November so I guess we won't be seeing cam green playing until June/July.

doubt he'll make his way straight back into the team will need a few games in lower grades first

Pity about Marsh but we have to start a new batch of players coming thru for Australian cricket.....its got to start somewhere and form (or lack of it) must be a huge criteria.
Not really a long term option at 31 but with Sri Lanka to come it makes strategic sense. Debut him at home and he can be more likely to contribute in SL

Easy, Webster unless he’s out of this world good will go out. Green slots in at 5, for me Head is a perfect 6 really. It’s not a demotion it’s playing to their strengths.

For the record Greens surgery was successful and due back a bit after the SL series

You can still use hotspot, i read the ICC test rules this morning, I noticed it was mentioned as an allowed DRS technology. It is expensive and can also be tricked by using silicone on the edge of the bat, no host country seems to bother with it anymore but they are allowed to if they want
India didn’t want it used in this series, so it is not being used.

It was a selection that had to happen. I think the selectors were holding out for Marsh to be adequate until Green came back, however his numbers were terrible. You can't say the bowling was the issue either. He bowled 17, 4, 2 & 10 overs during the series. He bowled 5 overs straight in the first innings of the first test & 4 overs straight in 2 other innings with the rest being 2 & 3 over spells. You can't expect many wickets to be taken with that little usage. It's obvious that Cummins didn't trust his bowling. Marsh should have been used to tie up one end when India had a partnership going & attack from the other, but instead, he kept going back to the fast bowlers even when it wasn't working.

Good to see the slug from snug given a go. The spin option will help too.

His wife is expecting a baby I think.
Correct second child.

we were only ever playing 1 specialist quick anyway so it’s who cares with Cummins/Starc.

2 specialist spinners in Lyon and Kuhermann

Then the third one would depend on conditions whether we go an extra pace bowler in Boland or another spinner if it’s the latter they have to be able to bat though so maybe a Riccochelli comes into play.
