That's all it comes down to in the end. Virus spreads across the world. Vaccines is developed. We get the vaccine. If a booster is needed, we get the booster.

But there will always be a rise of opposition. There will always be those who have no medical education, no understanding of virology or epidemeology, but they'll believe that they know more than all the experts. Or worse, they'll believe that they uncovered some secret conspiracy.

Unfortunately, that's how it generally works. If you don't like something then you're less likely to believe those who are supporting it. You're more likely to ignore the facts and instead believe that the government is making life difficult for everyone just because they want to control us all.

That's why you have people like Rod posting absolute rubbish and saying that they know more than the experts. Because they don't like what they're told so they make up crap that will make them feel safe and in-charge.


It's really rather sad to think that we have reached a point where people would rather believe their own illeducated minds than believe the experts, because the ignorant bliss is so much better than the truth.

The problem as I see it Hacky is that at a time in history where we are so advanced and have everything at our finger tips, its insane to think we cant access factual non biased information to make informed decisions for our own health and for the greater good of our community.
Leaves us open to alot of noise from governments, media and people online dribbling shit.

Basically put, it hasn't been properly tested. There is a couple of studies that showed that it may help a tiny bit, but there's other studies that show that it doesn't work and could be dangerous.

Ivermectin is the same as Hydroxychloroquine. Early in the pandemic doctors were freaking out, so they started using different drugs and they noticed that some patients were recovering. So the doctors started raving about these drugs. But the problem is that these weren't randomised controlled trials. It was just doctors using these drugs and believing they work.

Coincidentally other doctors used everything from herbal tea, to mud baths and they all had similar effects. Because using a drug and having a patient heal doesn't mean the drug actually worked. It could be a coincidence. Which is why you need trials.

So they started trials. But Trump came along and told everyone that Hydroxychloroquine stops covid. So people started taking it in large doses. And when you take it in large doses, you die. So people started dying. Then they banned the drug to stop desperate people from killing themselves. Ivermectin followed the same path. People heard anecdotal evidence from Doctors who used it and thought it could help. Trials started. The trials found no effect.

But people are desperate and they figured out that they could buy the animal version of the drug. So they did that, and took it, and people started dying. Again.

The stupidest part is that the claims I've mainly seen are that pharmaceutical companies convinced the government to ban the drugs so they could sell vaccines. But the same companies are the ones that sell Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin. And if they sold Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine instead of vaccines, they could keep selling it forever. Instead they're selling something cheaper that is used twice then not needed any more.

If the conspiracy is true then the pharmaceutical companies are really, really stupid.

if ivermectin does knock out the delta covid like they did in india, then its game over for pfizer covid vaccine and the billions/trillion dollars they were going to make, so of course they are highly motivated to discredit it

hacky said the complete opposite was true, that the vaccine would quickly fix covid and ivermectin would need to be used forever

he also claims that the same companies sell ivermectin, not true so the pfizer revenue would turn to 0

ivermectin, people heard studies that it kills covid, studies started, studies showed it prevented covid by 82% or stopped everyone getting covid, parts of india used it and they basically killed off covid delta in their areas, peer reviewed studies of 100 people showed it helps treat covid, but the numbers were so small that they concluded it they didn't know if it worked or not, said it had no effect on how long 22 people stayed at the hospital, media uses that report to claim ivermectin has no effect, hacky repeats it here, media discredits ivermectin, says its a horse drug and that it could kill you

Spoke to my daughter this morning about her second covid shot and she has only a sore arm and feeling a bit tired.

Said it was a unique experience going to Quodos and was impressed with the set up that they had there.
When you arrive they check all your identification, including a drivers licence, photo Id card etc. your confirmation text message ,temperature and they issue you with a bar coded sticker that you wear and it is scanned each time you go through a specific check point. You go through a maze to keep distancing and at the end of it all just as you leave a security guard asks you to take off any of the tags that you were given and bin them so they can't be handed on.This is for a few reasons ;to track your progress through the procedure similar to QR coding in a coffee shop, supermarket etc for contact tracing and effectively have a tracking to stop those who have been "taking the shot": for others. Believe it or not ,that is apparently a thing where someone pays you to get the jab for them so they can get a vaccination certificate without actually having the vaccine. I had heard of people getting more than the two shots necessary but thought it was a rumour...
At least they are trying to cover all their bases and make the process as secure as possible and daughter was not fazed by it at all...
