I have been saying it and pointing it out since last year, our skills. What do we do at training? Passing, kicking, catching, set plays etc etc. At half time tonight on FOX Anasta, Kimmorley and Williams were talking and they flat out all said, Dogs have the worst set of "core skills" in the league. They can't pass, catch etc etc.

Any Coach of any era regardless of the game passing them by can all teach these thing.......WTF?

Yep. They also said our halves lack any ability to create overlaps; we just run across field telegraphing passes and get caught on the sideline. When they said our halfback for the past three years has been Graham, that just about completed it.

Yep and we are the only club to be in single digits for try's off kicks with 3 for the whole year.

Our general passing is horrible from every player they rarely hit the bread basket. No one runs straight and we seem more intent on trying the milk a penalty then a quick play the ball. We don't have a kicking game at all at the end of every set it's a bomb. There's massive issues to need to be solved.

Our inability to hold the ball, and lack of discipline delivers the same script every game.
We rarely see the ball in the first half; defend successive sets on our line, tire in the last ten minutes and allow easy points just before the half . Run out defeated and exhausted in the second half, get a bit of possession, but fail to do anything, then give up and concede more points.

How many times do our first receivers get the ball then either run into someone else (literally) OR can't find anyone so they just pass it to a plodder just standing there for a settler? This happened tonight when we had the first attack of the game at the 25th minute mark or something and I think it was Kas had it on the 4th tackle....just shithouse!

The team is just poorly coached. The systems are absolute garbage and look even worse now as it's clear the players have no belief in them. We deadset look like we play with less players than the other team.

Their like watching an under 6 team where they just stand in a bunch and pass to anyone who just runs forward and that's it

Yup. Here's what Mark Waugh tweeted during the game.

it's amazing how paralysing a lack of confidence is in sport. Bulldogs can't do the basics a 10yo could do at present.

Really, sounds about right but I think our problem is way worse than just confidence unfortunately. A coach who gets a Mil per year who can't even teach how to catch and pass.......pffft

and the problem all these bad habbits are ingrained in their DNA after being coached by the fraud for last 5 years.

we not only have to get rid of Des but almost the entire playing roster to be force again, till then it is just going to get worst.

I know everyone would have a field day responding to this, but I would ld love to know what are the qualities and traits that Des values most when signing or retaining players, and to what extent he values core skills. I am sure half of these players as lower graders didn't have these core skill issues. Think I agree with Junior that confidence is a massive factor at the moment.

Spine + halves. Melbourne have built their team around a good spine. We've built it around the forwards and Hasler did it because our halves were average when he arrived in 2012. Foran is our first big name signing in the spine under Hasler.

What's worrying is Hasler apparently needs to explain to the board why the team had a shit season...
Board - Hasler can you come up and justify the amount of money you get paid, compared to the results that you have achieved?

Hasler - BBBBAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....

You can't bluff your way into the NRL. The skills are there.
The players don't care. They've given up on hasler.

So obvious last night.

We were bumbling and fumbling the whole first half while Parramatta didn't make hardly any errors. Mind you ww were standing back with no line spead giving them so much room to run their plays.

Hopeless team. A coach that has no idea. End of season can't come soon enough.

Its all part of a new commercial strategy.. the Bulldogs are moving on from rugby league and looking to join the circus business
