The Sydney Roosters have called a press conference in Sydney for a “significant announcement”.
No further details have been provided but it is understood that Cronk will announce he is calling time on his career after 16 seasons in the NRL.

Now 35 years old, Cronk’s NRL career began 15 years ago after moving south from Brisbane.
He was the Dally M halfback of the year in 2006, and won the award again in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2016, and is a dual Dally M Medallist winning the top gong in 2013 and 2016.
Cronk also won the Golden Boot - rugby league’s highest international honour - in 2016 and led Storm to a grand final that year, losing to Cronulla.
Cronk won a premiership the following year in his final season with Melbourne, beating North Queensland, and then famously led the Roosters to a title the following year while playing with one good arm.
He won the 2012 premiership with Melbourne and had two more stripped despite winning grand finals in 2007 and 2009.
All up Cronk has played in seven NRL grand finals, winning three titles.
He played 22 Origin games for Queensland before retiring in 2017, and represented Australia 38 times including two World Cups.

Boyd Cordner and Jake Friend will be at “significant” Roosters announcement today. I’d imagine Cooper Cronk will be the main show though. Expected to announce his retirement.
