I think this is an important point.
It may well be a transitionary thing given the obvious lack of an immediate Jacko successor.

I don’t love it by any stretch - not for the individuals chosen just the whole structure.

For sure.. Almost every captain looks to the bench for those decisions now. Or the trainer is on the field to tell them what to do anyway. I think people are overestimating how much a captain has to do during a game these days other than talk to and motivate their teammates on the field. We have several vocal leaders now, so I don't think we're going to struggle for leadership.

Hopefully both know when to pull the trigger on the captains challenge. We had some real howlers the last few years.

DWZ was the worst. He'd challenge every time he knocked it when it was obvious he dropped it cold on tackle one with no one near him.
