100% the boys will have to have a game plan next week a really solid one Manly are a great team when they turn up also they can be complacent sometimes when they beat a opponent or underestimate a opponent.
 
We missed Burton, Mann, Xerri, Fox. We probably still lose but not by that same margin, we are lacking go forward. Hopefully some big signings to come, Sitili from Roosters will be good, need to get more depth with no rotting Salmon and Hutchison the grandpa.
 
In all the years I’ve been supporting the dogs, I’ve never ever seen a game where 1 player is solely responsible for a belting like that. The moment he touched the ball, all our momentum went out the window and how he made it as a half is beyond belief. I also can’t fathom why Ciro wouldn’t put Taffe at 6. He is no fullback but has played all his junior years as a half, you’d think he’d have a shot at it!?
This flog was the sole reason we started winning games. Take the errors out of it for a moment, he has no X factor, he has no momentum, I don’t even think he wanted to be playing tonight the way he was flailing across the field!
Watching tonight’s game was like sitting through our last season all over again and I truly hope Ciro and Gus pull their heads in and release him out into the wild where he belongs!

I disagree I think manly will loose tomorrow hopefully and I have faith when the Penrith boys and we have our full team on and play like we have been we can beat manly

I respect your right to this opinion. But I see Buttons impact as being huge. Our defence has been incredible until these last couple of rounds. But go forward has largely been a balance between our big backs helping out a lot and high energy forwards. It's still meant that a lot of times when we've been pinned a bit, his boot has gotten us out of trouble. And he's been a running threat for his whole career.

His short kicking game can improve and he doesn't always take the right option. But given that he's been selected for NSW as a backup half/centre, there are some decent judges of talent that would say that puts him firmly in the top 8 halves.

Regardless of his wage (which is conjecture anyway) I appreciate his input. I know he can improve, but he's miles ahead of what we've had for years.

Lets not confuse Burton's importance to our team's success and Burton as the elite half in the comp.

These are two different subjects.

Some people here think Burton is at the level of Munster, DCE, Luai, Walker, Hunt, Cleary etc.

Manly forwards really dominated ours, they were making 80m in a set.
 
He’s got obvious areas of improvement but for the make up of our team at the moment he is massively important Anything else is just hate for hate’s sake. He needs to run more, take better options, etc but he’s a good player that has been integral to our run this year. Will only get better and we literally have no alternatives so it’s pretty obvious for mine,

I think the majority of the abuse here (if any) comes because of his poor goal kicking.

I dont think anyone is calling for his head.
