We saw it when Burton moved to centre's against the Roosters. Everytime our left edge gets moved around we play really bad.

Also Manns absence has been absolute devastating for us these last 2 games. Our line speed and defence vanished with him gone and salmon is a shit turnstile
100% this.

You can kind of understand the poor attack tonight with JAC, Burton and Xerri all missing, and the terrible decision to play Hutch instead of Hayward at 6. But none of that explains the defence this week and last. Mann is the difference, absolutely massive loss and probably the difference between us competing in finals and getting dumped out in week 1.

just lets get real and don't make burton look like andrew johns.

Hutchison is the worst half in the comp.

Burton is 100 times better but he is not even in the top 8 yet we are paying him the money that is given to top halves in the comp.

Where is all the hate? Seriously his boot alone has got us this far this season, just goes to show how much his defence and attack is missed tonight he is a big part of this team.

He is our best player and I bet people will still find a way to blame him for tonight’s performance.

Need to find some more hard nuts like him.

Of course we are, he came across in 2022 when we were an awful team, what choice did we have?

The decision to play Hutch today was absolutely terrible judgement by Ciraldo but equally Hutch wasn’t the only passenger out there. Sua and Clarke made some of our best players look very ordinary. We have a week to snap out of this and get back to where we were a fortnight ago.

I think Preston might be our best option at 13. He’s not running great edge lines at the moment, we’d be better of putting him in the middle and starting Hayes on the edge, with Salmon either gone or benched.
The trouble is we aren't going to make it through the season with the troops we have. We've haven't been as unlucky with injury as we were last season, but even with the amount of injury we've had our depth has been found wanting. If Mann is such a big loss, then we need a few more of him.

I respect your right to this opinion. But I see Buttons impact as being huge. Our defence has been incredible until these last couple of rounds. But go forward has largely been a balance between our big backs helping out a lot and high energy forwards. It's still meant that a lot of times when we've been pinned a bit, his boot has gotten us out of trouble. And he's been a running threat for his whole career.

His short kicking game can improve and he doesn't always take the right option. But given that he's been selected for NSW as a backup half/centre, there are some decent judges of talent that would say that puts him firmly in the top 8 halves.

Regardless of his wage (which is conjecture anyway) I appreciate his input. I know he can improve, but he's miles ahead of what we've had for years.
