I honestly know bugger all about this guy as a player. But I'll happily see us sign some guys who might never make it, as opposed to guys who had already shown they weren't making it elsewhere. I'm thinking of guys like Jonathan Wright and Brown who were solid fill ins, but never had anything in terms of the potential like we used to see bought to the club.
Only 4 players to go till we fill the top 30 now! We are so thin in the outside backs next year so we had to sign someone. This is where the people that are saying the salary cap thing isn't that bad are wrong we are replacing Bmoz with this guy.
Plenty of people on here thought B-Moz was a poor value for money signing with his age and the potential for him to spend a significant portion of the season on the sidelines with injury or possibly being away for rep duties. I love the Morris brothers and think they've both served us well, but personally thought that you can't spend huge money on wingers. I've always thought that those wanting us to chase Mansour were just a bit mad.
At some stage we have to face the fact that we need a succession plan in place for big money players or aging stars. You can have the best winger in the world and they won't make a huge amount of difference to an average winger if they aren't getting plenty of opportunities from the creative players in the squad. So I'd prefer we go for cheaper options in positions like the wings while we sort out a better balance of cap payment into our spine. By going for youngsters we're potentially going to see someone that will reach their potential here and eventually move on. But it's a necessity to chase these cheaper options right now while we move towards sorting our squad balance out.
