Id be happy with a few broncos players. Much like 2009. some of these players just need a change of scenery and they will perform. Someone like Milford needs a simple game plan and he will shine. Jack Bird if fit can create an arrogance that our backline / Club hasn't had since the 2004 days. Any of the young forwards is obvious, even Oates gives us size and presence in our backline..........GO AFTER THEM

People...
When are we going to realize that no player of great significance is going to sign with us now
Not before we fix the coaching department !!!

Only player worthy of throwing money at out of all the players mentioned is fafita. The rest are average just like our current team.

We need to play bluff.

Offer Fifita $1.2 million a year. If we get him it is as good a buy than Taumalolo at the Cowboy's. If we don't get him Bronco's will have to match it and then their salary cap would burst forcing them to offload others players mentioned.

Give us a couple of these

Milford (Broncos contributing)
Oates
Niu
Bird (Broncos contributing)
Isaako
Staggs
Coates

Fifita
Turpin
J. Hopoate
Ofahengaue
Lodge (Broncos contributing)
Carrigan
Haas
TPJ
Flegler

How are the Broncos 15th :tearsofjoy:
Unlikely as it may seems...
If we sign Bennett we will definitely end up with few of that list, hopefully Fifita, Haas, Staggs and Niu.
Could history repeat it self "2009" ?
Remember it was Bennett who convinced Ennis, Stagg, Eastwood and Hannant to join us then !!!

Staggs
Deardon
Niu
Farnworth
Deardon hasn’t shown much to suggest he is better than Wakeham and if we keep Foran I think you also got to consider Averillo is a 6 so I’d probably pass on him but the others absolutely would made a huge impact especially Staggs.

Jamil can't even make the Broncos bench ahead of greats such as a 33 year old Ben Te'o and Rhys Kennedy. Oates is starting at second rower even though he's a winger.

That's how average Jamil is. I hope he's not even a blip on the clubs radar.

Someone mentioned here last week taht squads are being reduced to 26 next year, is that correct?

If so, we have to be very pointed on who we recruit.

you'd have to think we will wrap up the low hanging fruit signings like Elliott quickly. If CHN comes back to us then we have to basically focus on 3 quality signings.

Centre or Fullback is a must. Looks like they are making inroads with Cotric there. Is Cotric a centre? I don't know but at least it's an educated gamble.

the other must is a Hooker. I would have said half but it looks as if our guys can do the job if everyone else can so we need to go hard out for a hooker. Apart from a half attempt at Grant and Mccullough I've heard nothing Form my insider or anywhere about this.

Fortunately there's a few out there atm.
Friend
Grant/Smith (domino effect to be seen)
And maybe Daryl Clark from England who is Cooklike.

The last one Is someone who I think we should throw 650 at and see what he says. I can't see him being on more than 500. By all reports he's better than Hodgson.

After that we just need to look for an enforcer type forward. Someone who can bend the line and run hard. We need to shift our forward pack more from 'hard working forwards' to 'venomous forward'. The former consistently helps you not get 50 put on from the opposition but the latter helps put 50 on someone else on a good day. Our balance is out a bit.
Obviously Fifita is the first choice here but failing that it if we went hard for a hooker, there's no reason why we can't get sos mein cheaper like Wallace or Packer is they are still on the nose at their respective clubs.

Think Eastwood up until 2016. No coincidence when he became soft we lost our forward dominance.

I was very pro Milford a week ago. I hired a Broncos specialist to give me more insight on him and I've gone more 50/50.

He has some shocking statistics.
The guy I hired told me this;
Milf has dropped the same amount of balls (7) as he has tries, try assists, line breaks and line break assists combined. Milford also leads the broncos in missed tackles (22) and penalties conceded (5). He came back from Covid overweight- which is typical of this type of player, and is lazy and hasn't stepped up to do game management. Although as a fullback he may not need to do this.

650k for Oates? He'll be playing Q-Cup next season at this rate. He'd be lucky to get 300k from a club with the horrible form he's shown the last two years.
