100% no. He has had his chances and failed so fcuking miserably over last few years. Time to fuck him off and give someone else a chance. I.dont care who. But anyone else.
A chance at what? He is there purely for cover.. He is easily an asset as he can cover multiple positions, defence is great, work ethic and attitude go hand in hand.. U need these guys in U top 30 habib.

Like others have mentioned. Very valuable player off the bench. But I think that is all he will be. 1 swallow doesn’t make a summer.

Fair enough he had a decent hit out yesterday. And he can do that time to time. But let’s not forget most on the kennel were saying he needed to be dropped for katoa at the start of the season

what happens when he throws bad passes again or misses one on one tackles leading to tries?

He is best used as a impact player. Him coming on for 10-15 at the end of each half would be dynamic. Him on the bench slotting in at half or centre if needed. Him using his speed to scoot from dummy half against tired packs after quick play the balls.

An 80 min hooker he is not. But a 20-30 min super sub for say 300k a season would be handy. Especially if our number 9 wouldn’t have the endurance to punch out 80 mins of high energy football.
Not saying he’s our saviour but how can you say “misses one on one tackles”? JMK’s defence is pretty solid, one of his strengths actually. You can question his decision making in attack but definitely not his defence. I think you got him confused with Katoa and Elliot

We still need a gun at hooker, probably the only exception would be JMK playing like he did yesterday for the rest of the year, but I feel like we need to make the call now and going off his whole time here I think it's the most safest/best play to sign a gun with JMK 14/back-up. You need 2 good hooker's in your top 30 anyways.

This appears to be Déjà vu all over again. Remember Lichaa's last 3 games to get a new contract? JMK can be the bench hooker & we sign somebody else like Smith as no. 1.

JMK played really well yesterday, but he needs to do that week in week out. He has 11 games to show us some consistency.

So, it's a trap then?
Not necessarily, just putting into perspective, yes he had a good game but he has had 3 seasons without showing too much.

I would like to give the benefit of tutelage under barrett just don't think people should get ahead of themselves decalring jmk a solution to our hooker problem.

St Merge were so awful, Katoa would've looked good.

So happy for JMK to have a good game, but that try was a once-in-a-season invitational. A-defender defence that bad in firsts is a rarity.

The praise JMK is getting is just for his performance yesterday.

Past 3 years have been average but he has to back it up now and must realise that.

Canterbury have been chasing an elite No.9 for quite some time, with the club linked to Brandon Smith quite frequently in the past six months or so.
But if Monday's performance from Jeremy Marshall-King is anything to go by, Trent Barrett may not need to go to market for a dummy half.
In his first game back from a lengthy injury layoff, the 25-year-old was arguably the best player on the field as the Bulldogs upset the Dragons at Stadium Australia.
Marshall-King crossed for a try, made a linebreak, ran for 85 metres and made 37 tackles without a miss in an 80-minute display.
While he may not be on the level of Damien Cook or Harry Grant, the Canterbury rake has shown plenty of potential during his career - he just needs to find some consistency.
With the likes of Matt Burton and Josh Addo-Carr headed to Belmore next year, Marshall-King is only going to improve as a player as the quality of his teammates improves.
DJ. I usually find your posts funny and satrical.
But Do Not. Jinx us.
We have suffered enough of no hooker since Ennis left.

Let JMK go, prime example of someone who hasn't performed for years but some people who seem to have accepted mediocrity wanna re-sign him because he had one good game against a shit team.
Sign B Smith and use Topine at hooker if needed.

It's not just one game, he has always had potential and has not been operating in a system which offers a lot of opportunity for young talent to flourish. Should be retained as a benchie at very least.

We can only keep one of elliot or jmk. I think we should keep jmk and send elliot packing

JMK has looked better at times than many other players who have looked mediocre here and have gone on to do well over the years.... the problem is not the talent, it is the systems and structures responsible for developing and nurturing that talent. I'd re-sign him tomorrow. He won't command a lot of coin and in the unlikely event we land Smith or Hodgson, he'd be a very handy bench option. Good business.
