100%..but Courier Mail says it’s already done..
We have thrown him a lifeline apparently..
Could be a train and trial contract for reserves..fingers crossed
Yeah this actually checks out as Dave Furner was coach of Leeds whilst Ava was there. I do believe he may have been the one to sign him there.

i dont know anything about the bloke i.e how he went in England in his 2 seasons but perhaps David Furner has received decent intel? Used to coach them...just a thought, doubt it's the end of the world if we have signed him.

I heard he wanted to get his family out of the the UK with the crazy numbers of (Covid) over there but Panthers were keen to land him in a swap deal hence them granting Tetavano an immediate release to join the Rhinos.

On a positive note, this could very well mean an agreement has finally been reached at the expense of one of our forwards and Burton's release is imminent.

Yeah maybe it's a way for us to pay part of his contract (shouldn't be much more than minimum) and trade him with Penrith so they can gain back some experience in their forwards without sacrificing capspace on him. Then again why'd they let go of Tetavano if they needed experience, must've had something to do with a bigger paycheque for him waiting at Leeds.

He’s Ogden with more games. His size and lateral movement is a huge concern at his age and his much the game changed since he left he NRL.

Bulldogs bring Seumanufagai back to NRL, Stephen Crichton to re-sign with Penrith | Daily Telegraph
The Bulldogs have handed Ava Seumanufagai a lifeline by agreeing to sign the former Tigers and Sharks prop for the rest of the season.

Seumanufagai left the NRL after one year with the Sharks in 2018, having played 105 top grade games at the Tigers. He spent the past two seasons playing for Leeds in England and was part of their Challenge Cup win against Salford last year. Seumanufagai was released from the final year of his deal with Leeds to return home for family reasons.

He will provide some much needed depth in the middle of the field for a Canterbury pack who is already dealing with a troublesome casualty ward.

Adam Elliott (shoulder), Joe Stimson (shoulder) and Dylan Napa (knee) have slowly returned to pre-season training while Raymond Faitala-Mariner (ankle) has had an interrupted pre-season because of surgery.

The uncertainty surrounding their forward pack was a contributor factor for the Bulldogs’ reluctance to release Napa or any other forward to the Panthers in exchange for half Matt Burton. English international Luke Thompson will also miss the first month after being suspended for biting ex-Panthers skipper James Tamou in the final match of the regular season last year.

Canterbury have been the most active in terms of recruitment but it has largely focused on their backs. Ex-Panther Jack Hetherington and former Manly back-rower Corey Waddell join Seumanufagai in additions to the forward pack.

The club’s new head of recruitment Peter Sharp arrives on Wednesday.

This is the worst news from the club in months. Ava was ordinary at his peek.
This may be primarily to cover Thompsons suspension & then flicked to Penny's for Burton.

Surely there was someone better for our 30th spot.

Fingers crossed he has been bought in to replace Napa, so he can go to Penrith.

And if that is the case you need to ask yourself what makes us a stronger team. Heading Napa in the team or having Seumanufagai and Burton in the team. I think the later.

Surely he's being brought in as a means to add forward depth before releasing a player to Penrith for Burton, or on a training contract and a gig with mounties.

Definitely a part of something bigger...

When you get 2 players in return for one Napa its a good bloody deal especially when u bring the rebuild finish date closer.
