I do rate him but he isnt as good as everyone makes out
 
Hes a fine player. Hes not as fast as fox, not as powerful as montoya, but hes more elusive than them both. Im happy enough for him to play. He deserves to play fg. And no i dont think hes a rep player or superman. Just worthy.
 
Blake Wilson is very much in the traditional Bulldogs mould. He was given a chance by the club when in lower grades who hadn't gone close to making first grade debut, hard working, has a lot of heart and plays tough. Wilson isn't the fastest, biggest or most talented. He's a true Bulldog in every sense.

But he isn't the slowest, smallest, weakest or least talented either.
Listed at 188cm and 92kg last year.
Possibly looks to have bulked up a little now??
That's a decent size for a winger.

And he can fly a plane.
Surely that puts him in the Superman conversation at least... :tonguewink:

correct he's a good player very under rated

I remember he got attacked a few times on this page he showed Gould and Ciraldo were correct selecting him ahead of Skelton

This exactly.I also dont rate him highly but he is a worthy first grader imo and offers difference to Montoya.
Work in progress type and now arguably the equal quickest player at the club, gives 100% effort and I think he can improve things like errors, high ball catching etc.
Up to them both to impress the coach for a round 1 gig.I like him outside Xerri, they can form the speedy left hopefully.

Would be nice to have some more forwards, but i dont think Sexton is a problem at all. He showed good improvement in the part season he played. An offseason with the team with him as halfback will make him even better next year. Hes all upside imo. Will get better the more he plays.

We didnt need a whole lot of tweaking from last year. Some of the form we showed, we would probably improve in 25 even if we put out exactly the same side as last year.

i think the 8 will change massively next year, it always does. Storm, Panthers certainties, the rest is up for grabs imo. Broncos/Eels/Rabbits will all improve, sharks with Blake is a massive inclusion also.

Having good winger, halves, and middles are t mutually exclusive.

Also, wingers are becoming more and more important in the modern game.

This is a good summary. I think at a fair price Wilson is a good player to have in the system. He is a solid player that gives his all.

Is he a superstar? NO. Will he ever be? NO.

He is a solid player that can do a job in first grade.

My gauge for most players is how many other teams in the competition is the player a starter. I don’t see Wilson being a certain starter in any NRL team. Which for me says he is a clubman type player that doesn’t get signed on big money. More than happy to extend him as long as the price is a fair representation. I think Kiraz is one winger, with the two new wing singings both ahead of Wilson in the order.

Depends how you look at it team performed well and no doubt big improvement on previous seasons. When it counted we got found out badly.
Game managing half and more grunt in the middle were significant shortcomings that we need to address for next year.

I doubt it. Dropenbor was a desperation because our team was woeful and lacked forwards that could take the field. He did not improve it lol.
