any update on this?

I havent heard a thing about it since.
its only been a week .. the NRL takes a minimum of two weeks just to scratch their arses.. this could take months ..

the independent commission needs to appear as though they are doing something .. so long drawn out processes are their specialty ...

Bulldogs hit with $5k fine over trainer's referee spray

Canterbury is facing a $5000 fine after trainer Tony Grimaldi allegedly berated a referee during his side’s win against Brisbane a fortnight ago.

The incident occurred at half-time, with Grimaldi spraying whistleblower Ben Cummins as the sides were leaving the field at the main break.

NRL referee Ben Cummins was allegedly the target of a spray from the Bulldogs.

“Why don’t you ref the game fairly,” the Bulldogs staffer is believed to have said.

The NRL took a dim view of the incident, particularly after leading referee Matt Cecchin opened up to Fairfax Media about the personal toll the job had taken as a result of threats and abuse.

The governing body issued the club a breach notice with a proposed fine of $5000 on Monday. The blue and whites have five working days to respond. It overshadowed what coach Dean Pay described as his side’s best performance of the season, a victory that raised hopes they could avoid the wooden spoon.

It’s the second time the NRL has stung the Bulldogs in the hip pocket during the last month.

Canterbury were also issued with a $15,000 breach notice for wearing the incorrect jerseys during last month’s loss to Parramatta. The team broke protocol by wearing their hooped strips, which clashed with those of their arch rivals.

The confusion arose because the Bulldogs wanted to wear their "Dogs of War" jersey for the clash with their traditional rivals, only for the NRL to knock back the request because of the similarity to Parramatta’s strip.

Despite being the away team for the ANZ Stadium encounter, Canterbury failed to heed an edict to wear their home jerseys, which were still at the drycleaners after they were worn the previous week against South Sydney.

The debacle prompted Fox Sports commentator Warren Smith to describe the clash of hooped jerseys as a “visually unappealing spectacle”, a sentiment shared by many fans on social media.

Unless they can successfully argue for a reduced penalty, the twin incidents will cost Canterbury $20,000 in total.

The Bulldogs are one of seven teams still in contention for the wooden spoon with three games to go. The ‘family club’ is currently sitting just above the Eels and Cowboys on points differential, but face a tough run home with games against the Warriors, Dragons and Sharks.

Could they have thinner skin? If this is complained about by the ref and we get a fine for it, you'd get banned for life if you said what you actually think or what you wanted to say. What a joke.

How about they stop fining us for jerseys and comments for trainers and look into the Roosters $17.9 million dollar salary cap instead?

At least pretend to police the salary cap instead of fining clubs for every little insignificant thing to take the spotlight away from how much this regime is putting the nail into Rugby League's coffin.

So how much is the fine when you sledge Referee Cameron Smith?

Worth it though if it draws attention to how useless they are.

Are refs fined for making mistakes or influencing a game? Many fans are turning away from the game due to poor referees.

"why are our stadiums empty"

"why are kids not interested in our game"

"why is no one interested in NRL as much as other sports"

Huh. I wonder...maybe it is because of the North Korea-Inspired rules?

Yep NRL has gone full marshmallow.

Just like players and coaches refs should be held accountable for their performance.

Currently, they are not. Which makes it easier for criminals like Sutton, Cummins and Klein sway the game for their Betting overlords.

Dont forget Nick Politis is at times a very very bad golfer [emoji6]
“Hey Cooper, bet $50,000 i make this putt”....18 holes of that can be very profitable and falls well outside the cap
