Being a Catholic Bulldogs supporter and Good Friday

Iv been vegan since the start of lent. Cant wait to tuck into some lamb on Sunday.
All good to you.
I only do the Holy week and started yesterday.

I seriously dont know how Vegans do it constantly. One week is a struggle for me.

Avoiding meat is one thing....having to go without dairy and eggs just eliminates so many non-meat alternatives....

But i do feel good come Easter Sunday....

back in the days I would go to Midnight mass then straight to Maccas and order a pounder (quarter pounder with 4 patties) lol

50?
Thats interesting.
Whats the significance of 50?
TBH I have no idea my bro, I joke and say we are hard-core lol

Don't know if it's an Assyrian thing or an Orthodox thing, or both lol

I am a member and go to most home games.

But I’ve never been to a Good Friday game and probably never will.

I’m a practicing Catholic and go to Good Friday mass every year at pm so it’s virtually impossible to ever go to a game which starts at pm.

Please tell me I’m not alone! It deadset pains me but my faith is extremely important to me (as are my beloved Doggies).

Note: I’m extremely tolerant and welcoming of all religions and of those who are not religious. Please keep this thread civil.

Congratulations Bro, People without a deep love of God and the Catholic faith don't know what they are missing out on.
I too have trouble with our Good Friday game for the same reason as you, however I live in the Country and watch all our games religiously on Fox. Due the timing of the game and Mass, I always miss all the first half of the game.

Well, you could always have a radio in your pocket with a descret earpiece in, just don't shout "FUCK YOU C**T!" if the reff gives us a bum call...
"Hallelujah!" might fit in nicely at some point.
Thank you Bro, now I am certain that you were droped on your head at birth.

You’re not the only Catholic Bulldog Supporter on here. So am I.
I used to go to the Good Friday game until I took my faith seriously. I don’t go to the game on Good Friday anymore. I just watch it on TV now.
I don’t think it is wrong whether you go or not, comes down to personal choice really.

I can't go to church anymore because it triggers anxiety like thingies so I'll stick to watching the footy lol.

It's works out at like 47 days if I did the math right. 40 days from the start of great lent to palm Sunday, then holy week is another 7 days.

This thread should be in the lounge, nothing to do with football or a game.
I know where you stand on religious matters, but you are wrong but this issue does have something to do with the football game.

One idea is 40 days of Jesus ministry on earth after his death… he cooked fish for the boys on the beach…, the 50 days I’m thinking cause I’m not orthodox is that 50 days after his death is the feast of Pentecost… where he appears in the heavens and is annointed with oil. See the story of Aaron Moses Brother as high Priest over all…oil running over beard onto his body…as a sort of typology.
