Don’t forget he was an embarrassment to the Club every time he got on the drink

A lot of young players struggle on the drink and make bad choices as a result. We should have stood by him and he should be commended for learning from his experiences and committing to stay off the booze in a booze bingeing culture. Canberra did the right thing by him. I hope he stays there and doesn't go to Newcastle, because the Raiders deserve to reap the rewards of the faith they showed in him.

Some young players struggle on the drink, yes. But the vast majority don’t. It’s all about choices

No, we should not have stood by him after his 3rd time, you either don’t get it or you are a troll, either way there is no talking sense into you, probably exactly the same as the board telling Elliot to stay off the drink.

Getting sick of repeating myself.

It wasn't his "third time".

The mad Monday incident was 100 percent the club's responsibility. The club arranged the function in a place that was somewhat public (even if they booked a private room). They could have had it at Belmore and nobody would have been the wiser. If you think players from other teams don't get up to similar shenanigans on mad Monday, you're kidding yourself. To make matters worse, there were club officials present and actively encouraging the raucous behavior. 99 per cent of the responsibility for that incident rests squarely on the shoulders of the club.

The second "incident" was not a breach of Elliott's contractual obligations in any way. It was a completely private matter, Elliott broke no laws, and was not considered of interest to the police. He made a bad decision which impacted his personal life and as a result, he decided to get off the grog.

If you know anything about alcoholism, or any other form of compulsive behaviour, you would know most people who quit will relapse at some point. It took me three goes to finally give up smoking. It happens. Elliott had one slip up and was involved in a very minor incident....once again, police were not involved.

In summary, we have one incident which was caused by the club's own poor judgment, one incident which was a private manner and nothing to do with the club, and one very minor incident which should have been dealt with in house.

The club dogged Elliott (pun intended) and he repaid us by kicking our arses a few weeks ago. I never enjoy watching us lose, but on that occasion, we had it coming.

Yeah like Ricky's choice to buy/keep them. Jack Fighton, Tom Starling, Elliott. The list goes on. Now Curtis Scott is sueing them because he was acquitted of assault yet the club sacked him before his case was heard.

Hi la familiars,

King Elliott has been absolutely ripping it up lately, and many of you are still too stubborn to admit he’s a gun, so I thought I’d start a weekly stat watch thread. Wish I had thought to start doing this weeks ago because he has been producing similar figures consistently for the past few months.

Stats vs Roosters:

66 minutes
1 try
1 linebreak
67 fantasy points (most in the Raiders team)
15 hit ups
154 metres
52 post contact metres
2 tackle breaks
2 offloads
4 passes
37 tackles

Tapine and Papalii seem to get all the wraps, but Elliott has been as vital as anyone to Canberra’s resurgence. And he is also skilful enough to fill in at hooker if need be.

People call me a troll, but the truth is, I can look past our club’s shitty systems and see genuine talent. Elliott has always had that. Now he’s playing for a coach who actually knows what he’s doing and is playing him in his best position, he’s looking like a million bucks. Being off the booze and happy in his personal life is obviously helping too.

We could definitely use a player like him to help our cream puff forwards right now.

Anyway, I know most of you aren’t big on admitting your mistakes, but I will keep updating the thread, and if any of you are ready to admit I was right and you were wrong, I’m right here.

Peace.

Elliot has been viral to a bottom 8 team
Makes perfect sense

His new teammates love him. But hey, I guess a bunch of keyboard warriors with skid marked undies are in a much better position to judge,

They’ve won 5 of their last 6. Had a slow start, but hardly looking like a bottom 8 team lately.
