Well first of all he didn’t get sacked.

But he did get asked to show cause as to why he he shouldn’t be after attracting his second? or was it third? Breach Notice issued by The NRL after investigation by their Integrity Unit.

And I would think any player would understand attracting multiple Breach Notices from The NRL is gonna jeopardise their contract no matter who they play for.

Wave his right to sue the club? He wouldn't have had a chance of fighting it which is why he accepted a mutual termination. It was either that or be sacked. If he could have fought it, he would have. As I said earlier in the week, the club was within their rights legally to get rid of him and this proves it. The mutual termination was a gesture and a PR move from the club and nothing more.

Nope, it was an act of class and contrition by a selfless individual who has always loved this club. He just couldn’t bring himself to go to war with a club he has lived since childhood. Also, he gas better things on his horizon and a lengthy legal battle was in neither party’s best interests. He could have won a wrongful termination lawsuit had he chosen to go down that route. You should all be grateful to him.

Lmfao how many sponsorships should be club lose before they punt him? Dragged the club through the mud in the pre-season then did it again 2 weeks before the regular season finished.

They should have punted him after the lichaa drama, This isnt a daycare.

They had no legal right to punt him after the Lichaa drama. It was a private matter, which was why the club was in no position to officially sanction him.

We haven’t lost any sponsors due to Elliott’s actions. In fact, our major sponsor was very vocal about his belief we should stick by him.

The family club also has a business to run. Being cost sponsorships and bringing negative attention repeatedly by the same player really left the club with no option but to terminate his contract. He was warned more than enough. It’s petty simple.. if you can’t handle the drink then don’t drink

What sponsorships did he cost us? Our major sponsor was actually firmly in Elliott’s corner. This wasn’t about gegsviiursl standards, it was about freeing up cap space.
