Cotter, who was given man of the match honours, will be fined between 10-13% of his Origin match fee for a crusher tackle on Blues winger Josh Addo-Carr in the 53rd minute.

Flegler, who was sin-binned in 69th minute for his shot on Tom Trbojevic that left the Sea Eagles fullback concussed, has been hit with a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle charge and faces a fine of between 13-20% of his Origin match fee.

Both Cotter and Flegler will be available for their NRL sides in Round 14.

Wtf both non events would see worse on a netball court. The game is run by softc&cks.

Looks a tough road back for the Blues now with the 2nd game at Suncorp.

Time to put an end to this neutral ground and selling the game bullshit. Series has to alternate between states for 2 home and 1 away, but with the clowns running the show that’s not going to happen.

Can someone at NRL headquarters think more about the fans than television rights. I can’t stand listening to the screamer Matt Thompson and tried listening to radio commentary but they were out of sync with 9 so had to go back to listening to the screamer in the 2nd half. He’s awful. God I miss Rabs. Fox should be an alternative, NOT put on delay.

He was horrible wasn’t he. Defensively was like watching Perham and in attack well he never passes so Just tackle the bloke. Not hard to plan for
His pin ball wizard style of bumping off players is starting to fail him and he is trying to do everything himself. Should never bag a champion but and he won't get dropped but he sure got schooled.

The comparison to Walsh and how his joining in the Qld backline and setting up raids with aggressive running and passes was Teddy a few years ago.

Walsh has a huge future if he keeps this up...but he hasn't challenged by Cleary's kicks at all....some of those kicks in open field looked Flanno like in distance and effectiveness. His 5th tackle kicks in red zone very good tho.

This first game just follows the familiar pattern of NSW not matching Qld execution and enthusiasm and players out of position or form.

While NSW weren’t good it was half expected IMO with Latrell pulling out, Cleary not 100% with a wisdom tooth problem, must be really bad as it looked like his chin has grown and some surprise selections to top it off.

Latrell comes straight back in for Chrichton, if Turbo is OK, put him on the wing or bench at least. Graham looks another option. Frizell and TPJ were lucky to be selected. I know they won’t drop Teddy but he looks past his best. If the Blues lose the 2nd game I’d bring in Edwards at FB for game 3.

Agree but not unexpected. V’Landys fines jockeys when riding horses for excessive use of a padded whip. Jockeys are limited to no more than 5 strikes before the last 100m of the race and if they breach the rule, they’re fined or even suspended!

Absolute power absolutely corrupts!

Only Fittler could lose with these players. On paper we should win every game by 20 plus especially if we pick correctly
Not sure how you think that in key positions lets call them the spine QLD are not just better but a mile better

Munster- way better than Luai
DCE and Cleary- draw and at Origin level DCE performs
Walsh/Ponga- both better than Teddy
Grant- better than whoever NSW pick at 9 and by some distance
Carrigan- best lock in the game Yeo is good but he's not Carrigan

QLD's spine is a mile better

I’m team nsw but how did cotter and flegler get charged.

that was not a crusher tackle and it also was not a shoulder tackle or a careless tackle - the tackle on turbo was just a good origin tackle imo

NSW had the better of the run of play and dominated field position but weren’t able to convert a couple of near misses.
Qld were clinical in turning their limited opportunities into 4 points and displayed the never give up attitude in defence they are renown for.

If and that’s a BIG IF the Blues can manage a win in game 2, certainly won’t if changes aren’t made, then I see RCG is back for the Eels in Round 18. He’d be an automatic inclusion for game 3.

Blues Team Game 2
1. Edwards
2. Foxx
3. Turbo
4. Latrell
5. To'o
6. Hynes
7. Reynolds
8. TPJ
9. APi
10. Haas
11. Young
12. Martin
13. Yeo
14. Burton
15. Paulo
16. Olkau'atu
17. Murray

Thats what we should pick for next game, Cleary is great club player but not an origin one. Adam Reynolds is good form has same kicking game as Cleary and probably know a thing or two about the broncos player weaknesses. Hynes been form player since start of 2022. Teddy is great servant of us but his washed .

The Muppet Adrian something on SMH rated Tedesco and Liam Martin the same - 6.5. Gotta wonder if he even watched the game...

They have a readers poll at the bottom of the article, Teddy is running at 54% of respondents giving him 1-4, and Liam is at 48% giving him 7-8.

Just pick Safiti who has done the job last year. Actually think TPJ was good but he should be off the bench you need a starting prop. Also think you are missing a Jake T too so maybe you consider a De Bellin

Fox will get roasted for his miss on hammer but tell me how he was meant to defend this when all the other supposed champions rushed in like this on Munster?View attachment 72901
How on earth can't 4 blokes tackle Munster lol he's good but they are making him out like he's prime Darren Lockyer out there...and we won't talk about the fullback being out jumped by a fat prop!

Looking at it again he probably gave a valiant effort to be even near Hammer with that much ground, with a few defenders, to try and cover.
