The Universe is a huge place. So big that even if we can manage to travel at the speed of light (which is theoretically impossible) it would take 5 years to reach the nearest star. In 50 years from now it's predicted that we'll have the technology to reach that star in 1000 years from now. And that star isn't predicted to actually hold life. The closest solar system we believe may hold life would take over 100,000 years to reach. If there are aliens in that solar system on theoretical technology that is possible within the restrictions of relativity they could reach us in 10,000 years, but they would have no reason to come this way unless they knew we were here.

To put it simply, there's a massive chance that there's a powerful alien race out there but the chance of them finding us is like a microscopic organism in Australia finding a microscopic organism in America.

But what if there is an earth like planet way out there with humans on it? Whose to say it's impossible?

That is definitely a good possibility. That's why I love the multiverse theory. The theory that there is a universe for every possible reality.

I watched NRL 360 for the first time last night (a full episode anyway). It was ok - Paul Kent appears less annoying these days... or maybe i;m just getting used to him.
