Matthew Head could turn out to be a fantastic signing for us imo. If he can get over his injuries, he can be absolutely devastating on his day, and can help bring up our own young halves.

he never plays for long would it not be better to nuture a long term solution for our halves.

Matt head is on the verge of signing with us. The Wests Tigers have only offered him the lowest wage for a top 25 player.

He will be in the blue and white.
I kind of hope it's not true. He's a decent player I suppose, but I would rather use the likes of Holdsworth, Roberts, Groom and even Sullivan in the halves as opposed to wasting our money on an injury prone specialist half back. I know he brings experience in the halves, which is what we lack, but I wouldn't want him here if it costs us a fortune.

Don't get me wrong, I would welcome him with open arms if he where to join us, but I wouldn't want to pay any more than $75k.

i think he will come cheap Haztrick, thats y he will b a good prospect. He hasnt done anything in the past 2-3 years so i cant c him getting more than 150k tops

I wouldn't give him more than 60k, let him prove himself then talk about 150k

Yes he is wortth more, after he proves himself, WTF will everyone say if we sign him for 150k then he gets injured? or doesn't perform?

Yes he may be a great signing but it is a risk and that risk should be priced accordingly

we could say the same bout SBW though, he has been injured more than he has actually played lol but we gambled and signed him up with big cash. with the excess cash we have for this year i dont think 120-150k would put a huge dent for next year but yeah i wouldnt offer him more than that, he is injury prone but lets hope if he does join he plays most of the games

SBW = Head

Don't make me laugh with that comparison

We knew exactly what we were getting with sonny bill, he is worth 500k even if he only plays half a season

im not comparing the two lol, i know SBW is in a class of his own, im just talking bout the cash flow, imagine sbw gets a season ending injury early on, thats 500k pretty much down the drain, however if head gets injured it wont effect us that great as he wont be on much

i just phrased it wrong earlier :p

I understand what u are saying, maybe we should offer him a base of 60k - 70k plus bonuses if he performs and stays on the field.

But personally I would rather see the club frontloading contracts to give us as much money as possible in 09, then we need to go after some marquee signings lie folau and inu

Kane was on a incentive based contract wasn't he? maybe same idea will work with Head.
