I used to work with a driving instructor.
He was a special guy from Indonesia.
By special I mean a bit of a potato and window licker!

Depends on the background of the cyclist.

If he is a near 7 feet tall white guy like me then he is cut out for riding on the road!

Also if you're going to ride a bike on open roads, it would help if you develop some street wisdom.

Usually when I go out with friends and we are in the streets I end up leading the way.

Even if I'm the youngest there.
Unfortunately I haven't always had the luxury and safety of having a car like most of you.

Plus growing up out west where everything is further away, with less public transport, you have no choice but to man up from a young age!

good point.. when I was on my L's many years ago... My driving instructor thought he knew better than me.. We were parking (his car) and I stopped as I thought it was too close to the car behind me... The instructor said go more, more... I went a bit more and stopped and he says no more, I can see as I have a special mirror.. Then I trusted him and hit the car behind me... Then he says go go go go, we sped away...

It was obviously his fault but even as a L driver I knew better than him.

can confirm from today alone that Asian drivers are the worst drivers in Sydney
