He’s an incredibly talented player, but running a team next year will place a huge responsibility on his shoulders. Especially a team that has struggled as much as we have in recent years. We need to sign some experienced spine players to help him... he won’t work miracles if he has to do it alone. The first half tonight proves that no matter how good a young player is, getting a team tiring will always be an uphill battle without a quality roster and experience in key positions.
I hope Matt doesn’t end up becoming the kennel’s new whipping boy.
Nah, 8t will always be Elliot.

Welcome to the Bulldogs Matt, where years of punishment have led to many of our players and supporters developing neurosis

Took responsibility for the performance and didn’t make excuses in the post-game interview.

This experience will be good for him and hopefully he can learn and improve from it.

Can’t wait until he’s in our colours next year.

All this negativity and the guy is not even here yet,he’s had one ordinary game,I said in a previous thread that if your forwards aren’t going forward,it puts. Lot of pressure on the playmakers .

That Panfers loss should he credited to Tyrone May....what a shit ****!
Wouldn't give Burton's head gear for the useless prick!
Indeed, terrible player.!!

I don't know what the panic is here. He's at the very least an ace centre. That's presuming he struggles as a half. Which based on this game, whilst not great, all the signs are there that he can be good. I hope Baz gives him some kicking tips that's all. He has a huge boot, just needs some finesse

He will be a star player for us for years to come, he scored and nearly setup Edwards for another, May, Kenny and Edwards in the other spine positions offered little.

Burton tried hard, like his kicking style, his high kicks that can go anywhere an deflect, and good vision and foot work , to find his way to the line. Got potential!!
