We have too many small players with similar body shapes so we need to recruit some big boys. I still cant believe we let Shaun Lane go. That was a blunder

It’s either Jacko or Elliott for mine and seeing as Jacko was only re-signed last year its a easy decision now. In saying that if I could make a choice I’d take Elliott on $450k over Jacko on $700k but it’s too late now.

We are already over paying Jacko we can’t double down and over pay Elliott.
$700K for Jacko - what a joke. Was that because he's the captain, a nice country boy or for offering fuck all in attack and missing a shitload of tackles? Cotric is an x-factor/game breaker and he's on $600-$650. Its stupid decisions like that one that will get us in trouble again.

Nasheed here, this is a bad loss guys.
He's fringe origin and where are we going to get another player, actually two, because of CHN, in the next few months of that caliber ?
It’s “Calibre” you dumb prick! Caliber is the bore of a firearm!

Canterbury Bulldogs: Adam Elliott in the sights of NZ Warriors
They’ve already lost Corey Harawira-Naera to the Raiders, now the Bulldogs are in a fight to retain another high-profile star as the Warriors fight to enlist his services.

He is a hardworking warrior on the field and could become a Warrior off it too.

New Zealand Warriors officials have genuine interest in Bulldogs forward Adam Elliott.

Canterbury lost forward Corey Harawira-Naera to Canberra last week and now has a battle to retain Elliott, another back-rower.

The Warriors made contact with Elliott’s management last month and the club’s interest in the Country and All Stars representative player has remained strong.

Canterbury’s desire to retain Elliott will increase dramatically after Harawira-Naera left Belmore last week to join the Raiders.

Elliott, who comes off contract after this season, is yet to agree on a new deal with Canterbury.

Incoming Canterbury coach Trent Barrett is known to be a fan of Elliott’s bullocking playing style.

New Zealand is keen on Elliott, still just 25, but the club is also looking at signing suspended Dragons star Jack de Belin.

There have been suggestions the Warriors would be prepared to outlay around $800,000 a year to sign De Belin, who continues to face aggravated sexual assaults charges from 2018.

De Belin comes off contract after this season and currently earns $595,000-a-year deal with the Dragons.

He would be free to return to ruby league if found not guilty

The Warriors have a dilemma – if they wait on de Belin, the club may miss Elliott.

Privately, officials say de Belin would be the club’s number one target.

Elliott wants to remain at Canterbury but knows of the interest from rival clubs. Earlier this month though, Elliott was ruled out for the rest of this season with a shoulder injury.

He will be out of rugby league for five to six months.

Reports surfaced on Tuesday that St George Illawarra were also interested in Elliott but Dragons officials said their club had never contacted the forward.

One Saints source said: “He’s not on our radar.”

In another development, Canberra centre Curtis Scott has been linked with the Bulldogs.

Scott moved to Canberra this season to replace Wests Tigers-bound Joey Leilua. While he has encountered injury, Scott has failed to nail down a centre position.

It is understood Scott’s previous club, Melbourne, continues to pay a chunk of his contract for this season. Scott still has another to run on his Raiders deal.

There could be a judgment in the de Belin case in mid-August.

De Belin’s St George Illawarra teammates play Souths on Thursday night at Jubilee Oval, Kogarah.

Meanwhile the Warriors have extended Penrith prop Jack Hetherington’s loan deal at the club by one month.

Elliott’s manager is working overtime this week with these rumours. Wonder how much interest there actually is or it’s just a bluff to get a bigger offer off the Dogs.

Lock is becoming more of the old traditional ball playing forward who links with the halves, I don't want Elliott to have that responsibility in a Bulldogs jersey. The only reason I'd entertain keeping him is as a bench forward who covers edge and middle 350-400k max.

If the Roosters or Storm were after him you'd know he's a good player, when St George and the warriors are being mentioned well it speaks for itself.
Canberra were after him, but ended up settling for a much lesser player because they could get him this year. people who say Elliott ixsn't good don't understand footy.

Elliot is probably the only real ball player in our pack. How many of our forwards have the vision to grubber from 25m out for a try??? None.

A broken clock is right twice a day. For every one of these good things he does, he'll do 10 shit things.
He's not worth the money he wants, particularly with us being at a rebuilding stage.
