Bad start, but its only one game in..

Pays contract ends this year..

We are no chance of signing anyone of note in the market until we have a coach locked in for 2020 and beyond..

With all this in mind, and the fact Pay is also only early on in his career, how long should he be given by the club until a call is made on who is our 2020 coach..

8-10 rounds, depending on performance.. but that’s only an opinion, I think that’s a fair amount of time to get things right .. but I’f it all goes pear shaped from here on out then I guess it will be sooner rather than later!! But that’s Out of our hands though..

but I myself still give Pay the benefit of doubt (for now) to correct things and get our team heading in the right direction..I’m certainly not going to start calling it yet.

I doubt they'll sack him even if we end up plum last. Not something "the family club" does... that is unless suddenly Ben Anderson ends up in the hot seat (which people have talked about possibly happening (that Pay was just placeholding)).

We showed with Des what happens when you end up with a coach who doesn't understand the club and it's culture.

The board might have their answer gift wrapped to them. Our next 7 games are:Eels, Tigers, storm, dragons, rabbits, cowboys, manly.

I dare say if we don’t get 3 wins by the end of round 8 it’s curtains for the season and for Pay.

I think hes done a good job with no salary cap. What are you going to do with no money accept try and get young up and comers who want to make a name for themselves. He just needs the time to get them playing cohesively. For those of you who play fantasy football imagine you could only spend $150,000 on each player - what sort of team would you have?

Mr I, with all respect, you are on crazy pills. You're the only one that keeps mentioning BenAnderson as a potential coach. He has never coached above 20s ( and unsuccessfully) and even with his connections, if they appointed him coach, they would lose all credibility. I saw in another thread Noddy was mentioned as a replacement. Noddy was sacked from the west tigers 20s after 1 year. All players stating he had NFI. Keep him him for specialist coaching. My mail is if Pay fails, Holbrook will be signed.

Had enough of rookie coaches.. if we were to replace Pay i would want a coach with a decent NRL record or at least a top record in ESL..

Mid-season. If we’re not 50-50 or at least genuinely looking like we’re in top 8 contention, then I will understand the need to seek a replacement. It should be an experienced coach. Griffin springs to mind as an appropriate candidate in that undesirable situation, but there may be others, I’ve not given it any thought.

Not play Lichaa would be a starting point. The team is already better

Griffin would be an interesting choice. He seems to rub players the wrong way but definitely gets results.

Is this Anderson’s son? Is he any good ? I don’t like there being family
Involved it taints the decision making of the board I think

My long standing opinions and suspicions on pay have been confirmed.

I only hope he proves me wrong in the next month.
