It's like when a three year old wants to use a chainsaw, they think they're old enough but as a non-retarded adult we know they're not ****ing old enough and that's the point here, that's why the drinking age is 18 and the legal age of consent is 18, because they're too stupid to make a proper decision before then and guys like you obviously like to take advantage.
Oh and why did you edit? You know there is a distinct difference between a 3 year old using a chainsaw and a 17 year old girl wanting to drink alcohol etc.

Don't try to push your point with extreme examples.

I can edit, it has the function and I wanted to add more to what I said pretty much as soon as I put it up.

Extreme examples rule, it's why we all agree global warming is real.

It's one thing if the guy is of a similar age but when a 22 year old is scamming on a teen girl it's wrong.

Using edit again, the age of consent is down to 16, I was wrong.

But you're missing the point of what I said.

The point is that some people want the privilege of doing things that older people do, but they still want to be able to use their younger age to escape the consequences that someone of the appropriate age to be engaging in those activities would face.

Like I said when I made the point, I am not making strong reference to the case, I'm just saying thise sort of thing often crops up with these sorts of cases.

That's women in everything but they always want it both ways and tend to get it.

Hence why parentsshould be doing their job. At the end of the day they are still kids and they make rash decisions. The parents should be punished. Ofcourse at that age they want to be seen as adults. Who doesnt? When i was bloody 13 i said i wanted to be treated like an adult.

I can see both sides of your argument, there really is no right or wrong

Yeah but there becomes a pint where no matter what your parents say you do what you want anyway.

My point is as an adult you're in a position to say to a child "No I will not have sex with you, even though I am a sexy beast and totally understand why you would want me to smash you, ring back in a few years and I will destroy you." and if you don't you o to jail and learn a valuable lesson about exit holes becoming entry holes....... *shudder*..... I watched an episode of OZ and still get the odd nightmare.

Saint Kilda are idiots.
Kim Duthie is an idiot.

Saint Kilda have the benefit of age, money, social skills, media attention, educational programs and initiatives, the circle of the AFL fraternity and the Melbourne Media.

Yet somehow THIS 17yo nitwit is the scheming mastermind of it all in a dash to grab dollars from meatheads .... Like she's THAT smart !!!

It's effing ridiculous !

Sure she wanted to f*ck some footy players for self-esteem - She's an idiot !

Why did the players allow it to happen ?

We have one dude who ...
(a) keeps pornographic pictures of workmates on his home PC for over a year
(b) sleeps with schoolgirls repeatedly
(c) ignores the club captain

Has he even been pulled aside and asked "Bro, WTF ???"
Don't clubs normally punish this type of sh*t ?

Helloooooooo !!!

There is NO denying the girl is nuttier than a fruitcake - And I'm sympathetic from the point of view that she cannot be expected to be making sound judgments at age 15,16,17,18 ... yet the entire AFL/Melbourne media/Victorian police juggernaut see fit to gather the boys club together to shut her up and deflect blame from the REAL ISSUE : What the f*ck are those men doing with her in the first place ???
gotta agree with you there CK....bloody ridiculous that the problem is trying to be deflected elsewhere

Both sides are spinning ****. We'll never know the true nature of the relationships, how they started, how they ended and what went on. We'll never know if they hit on her or she threw herself at them. We'll never know how old she claimed to be. The footy players are morons. Bang a teenage girl, take stupid naked photos of yourself and you should expect it could all end in tears. As for this girl, and any other girl this happens to in the future - seriously? After everything that has gone on in the media in relation to women and footy players of any code, how can it be a shock that it all turns to ****? If you offer yourself up as an easy lay, expect to get treated that way. I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying it's reality. Don't want to be used and abused? Stay away from these guys. Want to be treated with respect? Respect yourself! Guys - don't want your tiny wang plastered all over the internet? Don't put it on display to a girl you don't know well enough to know if you can trust her, and especially to a girl you're treating like ****.

Wish I had the brainpower to say this all more articulately, but basically I'm saying there's gotta be a point where people know that footy players and groupies can end in a lot of trouble for all parties. Self-responsibility people!

I find it funny that 17 year old girls often think they are old enough to drink and go to parties and whatnot but all of a sudden when it suits them, they can't be held accountable (in some people's eyes) because of their age.

I don't know the full story, I just find it funny that this can so often be the case.
I agree.

I'm not even really countering your point, because, like you said, there is two sides to it and neither are right or wrong, because it varies from case to case.

I'd even say that there are more than 2 sides because you can't really gauge how much influence friends or TV or whatever also has on her or others like her. But also, like Hog said, there is a point where despite your parents authority, you do what you want anyway.

There are two or more sides, but I was just pointing out that this sort of thing often happens and it's not really fair to be wanting to behave like you're older but use your young age when it suits you to not face the consequences of activities older people are allowed to engage in.

It's like wanting to have your cake and eat it too, cliche I know.

IMO she needs to step it up. Backing down now does nothing. Leaves her in the ****. Keep pushing and get the support of womens groups and go for justice/redemption/whatever she feels she is entitled to.

Community support is already going her way with teh stupid things the St Kilda lawyers are spouting.

And what if she is in the wrong? Then what? Or do you know something that almost everyone else doesn't?

I am with CK on this one! This young girl is still a child and needs to have her family around her. It makes me very worried that the whole sordid drama is biased towards the grown men here.!!!!!!! They deserve to have this 'come out'......you play with matches you get burnt.
