I know the Awafi/EJ's recipe for the chicken and the garlic. My misses cousin used to own Awafi in Blacktown.

I was about to say the same thing.
I was there the day that place caught fire. I seen the guy with the fire extinguisher and screamed "nnnnooooo don't fkn use it, you will spread the fire"
He looked at me and then proceeded to use it.
The fire went out for 10 seconds and reignited and spread upstairs and got worse just as the fire brigade got there! Lol

Btw Sydneys charcoal chicken is heaps better than awafi at Granville imo.
Can't say the same for awafi at Bangladeshmore though.

Had my first attempt at Leb Chicken tonight. Turned out a lot better than I thought it would. Couldn't find any good recipes so I made up my own.

Onion powder
Garlic powder
Paprika
Salt
Pepper
Chicken stock powder

And a little bit of each of these..
Cayenne pepper
Cumin
Lemon juice
Brown sugar

Cooked over coals. Basted with beer. Tasty as fuck

Probably mentioned it before in this thread but if you want decent Middle East based Food try Pazar on Canterbury Rd Campsie. My favourite restaurant. The Smoky Labne is the best thing ever made.

Also isn't Belmore Awafy not Awafi? Isn't there some family owner difference or something?
