Someone doesn't understand the basics of science. Science is never perfect, but the important thing is that it learns and evolves.

A new virus emerges that people know nothing about. So they make assumptions based on similar viruses. In this case, SARS and influenza. But as more research comes out, we find out that many of those assumptions are wrong. So advice changes based on what the new scientific research says.

This is basic science. This is how it's meant to work.

Speaking of ICU. In NSW there's currently 34 people in ICU due to Covid. In the last 7 days, 64 people in NSW died due to Covid.

Much lower than most of the pandemic period, but people are still dying.

During the pandemic, 64 people never died in one week.
You also have zero idea whether it was from covid or not.
