when we bought tonga in 04 he was 19 i think and had barely any if any first grade experience.. if theyre good enough theyre old enough

lafai is good enough
Honestly Tim Winitana and Tim Lafai showed the same promise in NYC and will end up the same in FG. He is not a long term NRL centre not bad as a fill in

I think we can look forward to 2012 with some confidence.

Our spine is almost complete

1 Barba - has come a long way in the last couple of weeks. With the right coach he could be one of the game's greats. Dymock has brought him a log way but imagine someone like Bennett with him!

6 ??????? - this is the glaring weakness in our team. Maybe Josh Reynolds. He is quick, cheeky and can pass a ball.

7 Hodkinson - really stood up under Dymock. Could be one of the best in the NRL

9 Ennis - SOO rep. Enough said for me.

Our forwards are strong with a blend of youth and experience. They will go forward

8. Tolman - one of the best and will only get better
10. Graham - big raps from the UK / Kasiano...quickly becoming my favourite player
11 Pritchard - a game breaker
12 Payne/Foster etc etc lots of them including perhaps the best, Tapau
13 Stagg...comming good again / Halatau....a fantastic backup

Our backs are ok but nothing special

Turner....solid, reliable etc but not in any way spectacular
Lafai...touches of brilliance but not a linebreaker
Wright...just ok sometimes worse than ok
Morris... a revelation with a rest and good ball

There you have it. Not a great backline and a weakness at 5/8 but all in all a competitive team

# 1 Can NYC Fullback Daniel Abou-Sleiman do the "Barba Opposite" and move from Fullback to Five-Eighth down the track? I haven't watched heaps of games, only a few and it would be sad to see him move on with barba cementing the fullback spot as his own...? He looks a gem at the back in NYC, and can see the kid from what i've seen a future star. Does he have a passing game, or kicking game, anyone know? With a full off-season playing in halves, could he be our answer...just putting it out there. Could be a terrible idea. However, wouldn't mind this team down the track of 2012:

1. Ben Barba
2. Steve Turner
3. Tim Lafai
4. Josh Morris
5. Bryson Goodwin
6. Daniel Abou-Sleiman/Joel Romelo
7. Trent Hodkinson
8. Aiden Tolman
9. Michael Ennis
10. Sam Kasiano
11. Martin Taupau
12. Frank Pritchard
13. Dene Halatau

14. Josh Reynolds/Joel Romelo
15. James Graham
16. David Stagg
17. Tim Browne

Thats probably the best team we have but our five eight options are really sh*t. If reynolds can play there that will be awesome or maybe if Hodkinson could maybe go to five eight and Reynolds to half back (i dont know if theres really any difference but i'm sure Reynolds was a halfback earlier).

Also what are your thoughts on Tolman coming off the bench next year like he did with the Storm. We get real go forward with either kasiano/taupau and graham and then Tolman to come in and keep the role going on with the other bench prop.

u r kidding right? why would we drop tolman to the bench? hell, why would we even stick graham on the bench? both these players are minimum 60 minute props.. kasiano is a 40-50 minute prop, tapau played 2 games and broke down(injury)
Kasiano and Tapau on the bench for me

theres my mate Soni Langi, has a lot of potential, really good player just needs time.
then theres this other guy, forget his name, crafty little bugger kinda like Barba, but his kicking game isnt all that good.
Both and young and need time to prove but definitely worth grooming.

Maybe play 20min of Ennis and Reynolds on the field and give Stagg a rest.
Stagg doesnt really give us go forward anyway.

Morris should be in the number 3 jersey. They should get rid of Wright because he isn't the best centre we've got.

Fullback 1. Barba
Left Wing 2. Lett
Right Centre 3. Morris
Left Centre 4. Lafai
Right Wing 5. Turner
Five Eight 6. Reynolds
Halfback 7. Hodkinson
Prop 8. Tolman
Hooker 9. Ennis
Prop 10. Graham
2nd Row 11. Pritchard
2nd Row 12. Kasiano
Lock 13. Stagg

Bench:
Eastwood
Keating
Payne
Taupau/ Millington

Coach:
Jimmy Dymock

Are you serious? Wright cannot catch a bomb and always manages to somehow drop the ball even when the simplest of passes are thrown to him. Last week he dropped it 3 times in the opening 25 minutes.

really? that's all he's done? i must be mistaken because the whole team has been dropping balls left right and centre.. oh and Turner has been dropping balls as well, so has barba, lets drop them as well while we're at it?

I agree with us needing a #6.
I'm not sold on Keating as our long term 5/8!

What do people think of Josh McCrone from the Raiders?
With Campese coming back next year, it will be McCrone or Sam Williams playing lower grades.
I think Sam Williams is really a proper halfback.....where McCrone excels at 5/8!
McCrone is only 24, and I like how he takes on the line with speed.

Your thoughts....
