Problem is ... he's not getting any better. Blame the coach, blame the surrounding players, but you can't blame anyone for the completely shithouse passing.

That's inexcusable for a hooker, let alone a first grader.

Maybe why des suggested he could play lock
Na. I watched that interview and he wasn't saying Lichaa was going to lock he was just saying that having Frawley on the bench gave the side versatility to cover for any injuries and that Lichaa was a good footballer who could play in a few positions even lock. He's not intending to use him there unless an injury in play occurs and he needs to put him there.

Should be pointed out Lichaa is one of 4, 80 minute hookers in the comp and is statistically a top 3 defender in the position. We'll let him go and regret it in 3 years time after spending this time on developing him
I agree. If Lichaa was 25-28 you would say he's done, but he is only just 23 and he has only racked up around 50 games in FG. Jesus, does anyone remember Jake Friend in the first 4 years. He was next to useless and all he could do was tackle. In the past couple of years he's been the shadow for Smith in SOO. He'll come good. the question is when and whether we have the right options to carry him until he does. It seems that this year at least maybe we do.

What did you think of Moses at hooker though?

Lichaa will not be coming good at the dogs, and thats a certainty.

He will finish out the year at the dogs and will not be re-signed

If I put a dollar on every certainty that comes up on this site I'd still be broke. Whether he gets a new contract or not I guess we will see, but I still think he is worth the effort. He's still short of being a good FG hooker at the moment but he has improved a lot this year.

Better passing but worse defence, he kicked twice for two errors, he has got quicker feet which will be nice. I'm sure those things will improve with game time.

I still want to see him at 6 with Frawley. I'd rather re-sign 300k Lichaa then Reynolds at 600k and still need to buy a fullback.

True, i still want to see him given a run at 5/8, but he did look really comfortable at hooker. His service was just so far ahead of Lichaa's though, the team just looked so much smoother with him there.

The dogs are short of a rockstar fullback and one forward to replace Eastwood to be a genuine shot at the premiership.

With Lichaa at 9 we will never win a comp, while we will win a comp with Mbye at 9 and Mbye will play Origin at 9

Both are true - he has developed into a tackling machine.
And,
His ball distribution is slow. Can't pass off the ground, and not a good passer.
The Dogs will never be an attacking force with that slow ball movement.

Yeh I agree. Originally thought he'd wasted at hooker, but it's been so long since I've seen such crisp clean service. Love for him to start just running, put the pace to good uses

Agree should be used defensively and as a utility unless we have better option this year.

Key thing that stood out was the better passing when Lichaa went off and the smart Mbye plays. There was one time were he threw the ball into an offside defender drawing the penalty and another moment were he gave away a penalty on our line to slow the play. Both were good decisions.

Mbyes support is also much better because he is up in the line.
That penalty play, if it was Lichaa he would have waited for opposing player to move or passed the other way lol

Why doesn't Des give Woolford a run? we bought as a specialist hooker for all we know we could have another Frawley on our hands & might not know it
Why would he? Why change a winning team. Like other posters have said when Frawley came on and Mbye to hooker our attack was much more fluent.

Now we do have a wining team so what do we do when hoppa gets back do we take Morris from Fullback and put him on the wing' & send Montoya who is playing great on the wing do we him back to reserve grade, I am worried that we will breaking up a winning team.
