Why I think we badly need a decent half.

Have you watched reserves the past couple of weeks ?

BBO is only 20 and has had his career badly disrupted due to covid.

I think you may be surprised moving forward.
I've seen enough and he is not a halfback in the making

Bailey has just graduated from flegg at the end of April...

He has only had 4 games in NSW Cup
And? You're acting like BBO isn't 20 and wasn't still eligible for Flegg. I'm not backing either player, just saying BBO was a fair bit better in recent weeks.

How many reserve grade games at hal has BBO played

Fair enough.
17 games in first grade last year and I'm pretty sure he has a few games this year

Kid might be a decent utility, but he aint gonna be a manufacturerd HB like your Jarome Hughes and Cooper Cronk

As said we already went through this with the likes of Mbye, Averillo, Wakeham & BBO and all have failed miserably

Flanagan will not lose his spot unless we nab someone like Cleary or Hughes...The chances of that happening are 0%

Put it this way, the best halfbacks in the game are Jarome Hughes and Nathan Cleary.

You than have DCE, Townsend, B. Hunt & A.Reynolds who are on their last contracts and legs.

Mitchell Moses has been good this year, but just like his team mate Clitoris Gutherson, they go missing in the big games (clear as glass the last few years)

You than have the remainder of the pack who are all on par with each other

BBO has had more development with and against the big boys compared to Hayward

Moral of the story is Hayward is a natural HB, while BBO aint, and they are not going to robotise BBO as a first grade halfback. Im not saying Hayward will be a first grade halfback, but he has all the natural attributes to be one and its up to him and the development coaches around him, to give him the best shot forward

Just like Averillo, you can count your lucky stars that Gus got rid of Barrett when he did and Potter has come in giving Averillo a new lease of life and found a more suitable position for his abilities....If barrett remained at the Kennel, more than likely Averillo would of been lost in the system

You are definitely not wrong with the current HB stocks!

Who will be the next halfbacks to take over at Manly, Cowboys, St Merge and Broncos?

The talent pool in the halves across the NRL is quite abysmal

Confidence is everything

Have a look at Flanagan, Averillo, JMK & Burton pre-Barrett and have a look at these 4 since Potter has come in

Sorry about my reply being messed up .... lost my internet connection .... couldn't correct.

All i'm saying is that BBO has looked really good at half, the past few weeks in reserves.

He was thrown to the wolves in first grade, I wouldn't be putting too much stock in that.

Hayward looks the goods and he can kick, bloke converted 8/8 (3 or 4 from the touch line) future is really bright
Very bright in my opinion... Now that we have a weapon who could be the next Tommy T at the back and Burton who could be anything getting the ball from a top shelf rake in Mahoney, the missing link is a cool headed solid HB and Hayward fits the mold. Pity about BBO, kid is a real talent and if he gets his temp right he could be knocking on every teams door..

Honestly think its time to get really excited. Need to just sort out another prop with Vaughan leaving and Thommo dealing with NASA.

But in any case you're not Flanagan
Well, that just makes my opinion that he isn't as bad as you say all the more objective....lol

With the Cup Captaincy handed to him, BBO seems to have cut out the ad lib low percentage plays and he played very constructively today.

He deserves a go and with a bit more specialised coaching and development he could be a revelation with a few full fg games under his belt.
The last 2 games I have seen BBO play he looked really good and would add another attacking threat on the other side of the ruck to Burton. Flanno has been going ok but we would be so much more dangerous in attack if we had a halfback that can take the line on and put runners into gaps. I hope BBO gets a chance this year

BBO's only chance of getting more time in first grade this year if injuries happen or suspension. Or maybe that 3rd origin game he can be on the bench if we need to spell Burton.
