Yep. The attempt by the Telegraph to tear down the Dogs has only firmed up support for them, and shown what spin merchants and fact denying misfits the Murdoch stable of "journalists" are.

Yeah but we should all play it the way Gus does. Water off a ducks back. Don’t react. It’s exactly what they want. Like a bad smell they eventually go away and that happens when we start winning regularly.
Not reacting I guess equals Organising press conferences full of excuses spin and delflections, and organising Weidler to write biased stories to defend him/us.

IMO, the cardinal sin for any half is not chasing your own kicks, that’s an attitude issue and it’s one of the worst.CC called him out on it last week along with a few other players and he did it publicly. He put burton on notice and that’s important for one reason, it sends the message that no one is above scrutiny. I’ll be watching burton closely today to see if there is any response.
Flegg is today as well.

You’re anti Gus/Ciro of course you’re going to say that.
Weidler vs Rothfield is hardly new.

Hey - why didn’t you answer my question about the ‘text message’ you claimed you were in possession of. What did you find unusual about it? I’ll wait here…

How about Kennellers stop believing the bullshit the Murdoch, DT, Buzz, Crawlie etc journos write for a change about Bulldog matters. The cruel, belittling, stuff written about Topine has been disgraceful when no one knew the exact circumstances.

It wasn't facts based. Gus and CC directly said they wouldn't comment and so did the players interviewed.

Until we knew the full facts, we should have given the guy a break and not added to the pile on the bloke has suffered.

Gus is an administrator a GM and a media man, we are only supporters we are entitled
Bad smell won't go away as long as their verbal diarrhoea continues.
I do my bit and not click on their rubbish.

Even though he's a mouthpiece for Gus these days, there's no doubt Weidler has matured and learned a lot from his tabloid sensationalist days and become a proper journo that points things out like how much worse these stories make the situation for the players mental health. All while giving proper context to the story.

This isn't just because it's in favour of our club but I wish more Rugby League journos would do the same instead of the hot take/sensationlist bullshit we see day to day which is so negative and kills the game.

When they get the league public so riled up and eager to watch or read every regurgitated fantasy version of their bs, they continue on with ever more sensationalist versions of their agenda driven tripe.

It's understable the goss is so popular. All journalism has gone this way but when league reporting goes to tearing down a player with known mental health problems, whose career has stalled or maybe badly influenced by his club captain getting in his ear, we all need to reallise the screaming headlines and judgements may not be the full or true story of exactly what happened.

Bulldogs fans in particular need to totally distrust journos and only Weidler knows our official news that Gus wants let out apparently :grinning:

To try & stop the gutter press, people should stop posting links to what they say. It's only fanning the flames.

That also applies to former players, who have no idea what happened & the circumstances.

We are a fan focussed site. Any news on our club will naturally be discussed.

If articles aren't reproduced on here...half the traffic and interest in TK will die.

The only thing we need to be mindful of is the agenda against Gus and also the Bulldogs before he even got here.

For all we know they may have just been asked about punishments if you are late etc. The players agree and have all been part of those rules themselves.

No one has a problem with punishments if you dont comply with team mates rules.

We let 2 very different issues get sensationalised by the gutter press.
1. The punishment...which most agree with.
2. A pile on against the individual when the full facts weren't known and just accepted what snakes like Buzz said about it.
