Storm still have Munster to come back. They haven’t been healthy in a few years. If they can keep their spine on the field they are my pick
If Paps can stay on the field, they will be right up there.

I would probably prefer the Panthers again over the Broncos, Roosters and Storm tbh.

Only 4 teams can win the premiership.
Penrith
Brisbane
Roosters
Manly.
The SeaEagles are my smokies. Fastest backline in the comp and a decent pack.
On paper the Roosters look formidable but I doubt whether they will ever field their strongest lineup.
I agree on Manly. Turbo looks 100% fit. Brooks is a great signing. Takes so much pressure away from Turbo and DCE. They have a very good captain & halfback. The forwards are working well they came on top against the Roosters pack.

Brisbane haven't missed a beat losing Farnworth and Capewell. They need others to step up to replace Flegler.

Penrith will be there or thereabouts. Leinu is a savage loss for them. Crichton is a big game specialist his loss will be felt when it matters.

Roosters have stars galore. They really need a Top 4 finish. Winning from the bottom part of the 8 hasn't happened since Terry Lamb's Bulldogs of 1995 different game back then with the finals format of no travel for the Sydney sides. They have a habit of using a lot of energy to sneak into the Top 8 when their talent is just bristling.

@The Innovator you're a Roosters fan right? I did read some comments you made about Mark Murray, Graham Murray and Ricky Stuart. Totally agree. I do however believe one person played such a big role in the Roosters success of the early 2000's and why they produced many young players was Arthur Beetson. Second to Nick Politis in Roosters legends IMO. He was one of the very the best at finding young talent in regional NSW and Queensland areas. The only ones in the Beetson class were Cyril Connell, Peter Mulholland and the network that Peter Moore & Barry Nelson had. Sadly all gone now.

Agree with everything you said. Arthur Beetson was a Roosters legend on and off the field.
As for this current team, have you seen a side so stacked with talent ? If they lose to Souths & then have Penrith in round 4, a 1-3 start is likely.
That team should finish top 2, but with Trent Robinson as coach it won’t happen

@The Innovator when teams like Penrith get decimated, Brisbane lose a few players, Melbourne have constantly shedded players the Roosters get stronger and stronger on paper. They can leave Billy Smith out of their team. They left out players like Crichton and one of the Butcher brothers out of the early rounds. That's serious talent. They sold us two lemons. They chose Docker Clay one of our rejects over Turpin (alarm bells) and we jumped head first into it.

I read that a lot of Bulldogs fans tried to question you about why the Roosters did and didn't become successful. I have a few views. I really believe Nick Politis used Super League/ARL to his and the Roosters advantage. Politis for years couldn't get into the corridors of power at the league he was treated like an outsider. Super League gave Politis power. Only a couple of clubs who stayed "loyal" to the ARL came out winners and it was those who used the ARL for self interest. Politis went from outsider to powerful overnight. The Roosters finally learned how to spend their money. The Ron Jones era at Roosters had been put to bed. He was useless. It took Graham Murray to finally get them to an NRL grand final. Arthur Beetson more than anyone found good young talents from all sorts of regional areas. Nick Politis signed every top end player and still does.

Panthers. They have that aura around them and the next man up mentality.

The only team that I can see stopping them is Storm with a Bellamy tactical master class.
