What about Karl Filiga

Yet to make his debut when Sharks bought him for 600,000 over 3 seasons.
Labelled the next SBW but never played a first grade game for them.

Ahhhh yes!! Karlos McNichol or Karl Filiga ........................ whatever (who cares really?). Next SBW (LOL!).
Cronulla Sharks released Filiga on "compassionate grounds" in April 2009. Filiga played 11 minutes of NRL for the Sharks after signing a 3 year deal for $600K. His 11-minute NRL career cost the Sharks A$20,000 per minute. Filiga is now playing for the Wentworthville Magpies. At $20K per minute surely that puts him right up their with the biggest dud's in history. One of Sticky Stuart's gun signings from the Doggies incl. Big Mase when he coached the Rorters.

I don't know. Last year's Minor Premiership was won by a team assembled new to the club in the past 4 years. I'm pretty sure Barba's the only one of that side who debuted prior to 2009. Only Kasiano, Jackson, Finucane from that side came through the junior ranks, the rest were recruited from elsewhere. Sounds decent enough recruitment to me.

If you want shoddy recruitment, look no further than Parramatta then daylight to the Tigers then daylight to any other side.
