True

Who did we swap to get Inu then or did Wahs just gift to us
Nah he was running around in reserve grade for the Warriors, out of favor with the coach. Typical of Inus Rocks & Diamonds career.

Hes too old to be part of a rebuild. You cant build a team around a half who is 34 next year. Hes on the cusp of retirement

People can throw random names out there but you have to have a player that the other club wants and that player then has to agree to the swap... That's why these deals are unlikely and rare. Usually if swaps do happen, it's not for big name players.

Also, Hunt would have to want to join us. If he's adamant about moving back to QLD to be close to family then there's not much we can do.

He asked for a release. Why should we swap anyone?
it’s in their best interests to let him go, an unhappy player in your squad is like a cancer.

You are ultimately right mate. It honestly just shows the need for player trades in the NRL. While I fuckin hate Dragons, they now will probably release their best player and get nothing in return.

A trade window between rd15-20, would be a game-changing development in the NRL.

Happened to us in 2013 when the grub Barba “needed” to move home to Brisbane for the 2014 year.

He was back in Sydney a year later

I don't think it's about rebuilding around him, it's more about rebuilding around the nucleus he will be mentoring.

He may be 34 but his fitness isn't a concern. Doesn't have ongoing injuries keeping him out of games or impeding his performance.

Just throwing some points out there for consideration

1. Experience for young pups coming through? Who are they learning from? People banging on about Cogger, whos he learning from?
2. Allowing our young pups enough time to develop in reserves. Weve rushed pups in the past, always ends badly.
3. Big game experience, make him sole captain. We have a leadership group but no-one leeds us on the field. Examples being the roosters game last 10 mins. The experience of the roosters team got them home. We have no game manager.
4. Takes the heat off Reed and Burton to be captains and focus of all our attack. They would perform better concentrating soley on their position tasks.

He is 34 years old playing rep footy at the highest level. It’s not like Reynolds who wouldn’t get a start in England.

Maloney @ Panther and Cronk @ Rooster (Kimmorley @ Bulldog, etc.) He's a must to help develop Burton and Oloapu for ~2 years as well as drastically improving our short term results.
