The bigger broadcast deal was meant to filter outwards and support grass roots football. But the NRL also tried to cut running costs by turning the NYC into the major step from junior to senior professional football thus eliminating the need for clubs to fund the NSW cup.

If anything it's seen a huge reduction in talented spine players IMO. So the more intelligent clubs these days are always looking for opportunities to increase their development pool. If the NRL suddenly decide to punish clubs that have spent big money by gifting these areas to another club that have neglected this side of things, it'll probably mean those who create pathways will just stop providing the resources.

And when the penrith catchment area is so large, who benefits from the funds dispersal ??

Which team has a junior comp in the Liverpool area ? I feel dogs need to expand out those areas or is that not allowed?

Was a Campbelltown junior many years ago before switching to Canterbury comp. The Campbelltown district was so much stronger it’s not funny. Surprised more kids haven’t come from there. Especially wen group 6 was pumping.
Yeh tigers base is huge also

They are just too dumb to utilise their catchment area, they need to give up on the inner west (Tigers) and concentrate all of their efforts on the south west (Wests). Another of the amalgamated clubs (like StGeorge) that are still administratively split along traditional lines and suffer as a result of it.
